A dark burgundy red ale with a very thin off white head, quickly dissipating. In aroma, nice sweet fruity malt with light corky notes, light ground cherry, light Brett, nice. In mouth, a dead beer, lactic notes, acrid mouth feel, watery bodied. Bottle is about 3years old but tastes taste like it was 10 years old.

Red color. Aromas of fruit, cherry, rice and almonds. Slight bitter taste from the almonds. Lactose and cherries. A bit artificial tasting. Cool concept but the result isn’t great.

Slight aroma of malts, fruit, cherry and acidity.

Turbid/opaque amber/orange beer with a slight/medium off-white white head.

Starts medium sweet with malts, fruit and cherry; ends slightly sour with acidity.

This beer is very interesting and has loads of character. The flavour is rather intense and complex, but the aroma is almost not there at all.

Backlog. Bottle. Light murky red with a white head. Aroma is sweet cherries, some sour notes with some nuts. Palate is a bit over the place, too sweet for me.

DWF; Bottle. 750 ml. Pours large, red orange, creamy with a lasting and lacing reddish head. Nose is moderate, white bread, cherries, almonds, light pepper and yeast. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and light sour with a moderate lasting cherry, almond finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft.

Panzerfaust (837) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - JAN 20, 2016
330ml bottle from Gallagher’s Beer World/El Irlandés. Pours a hazy but bright reddish amber with some pink hues and a massive off-white, almost pink head. Aroma is fruity with some phenolic hints. Notes of sour cherries, rice, amaretto, a bit of candy sugar and biscuit. Quite light, almost pop drink but enough alcohol on it to give it a bit of a liquor character. Taste is moderately sweet and medium sour with fermented cherries flavor dominating throughout. Touches of sweet spices can be felt towards the finish. Traces of candy sugar coat the fruity tartness and a cereal backbone that includes rice. Not bad but also not one of the best fruit beer flavors I’ve had. Body is surprisingly light, I wonder if they used lager yeast. High carbonation and well defined alcoholic presence. Maybe a bit too much. An interesting experimental beer but not one I would die to try again.

Bottle, Cambridge Cellars. Red-tinged amber with a very pale pink head. Aroma of cherries, almonds, sweet dough - pretty sure I can only smell rice pudding because I can read. Medium bodied, smooth, lowish carbonation. Sweet but not overwhelmingly so, nutty, mellow cherries with a suggestion of tartness, bitterness is on the low side of moderate - just cleaning up a bit at the end really. Alcohol is completely hidden. I suppose it’s the lactose that leaves a coat on the tongue. Good and really very clever.

Bottle shared at home. Murky dark pink with off white head. Light musty cherry, hay, dough, some oatmeal porridge, quite herbal and grassy, mineral, light red berries and bitter almond skins. Under medium sweet and medium bitter finish. Medium bodied with a bit creamy feel.
