Maltainen Riekko. 375 ml, bottled. Pours cloudy red with a beige head. Aroma: Cherry, raspberry, bread, vanilla. Rice. Taste: Sweet, mild bitterness. Palate: Medium body, some carbonation. Ok. DuffMan (10270) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 13, 2013
Bottle, shared with mmmIPA. Hazy pour, more orange than red, with a lively thick white head that retains beautifully. Aroma is sweet and honeyish, with soft melon fruit. No cherries on the nose. The palate is much the same, sweet honey-kissed malts, lightly spicy, soft melon fruit essence, very lightly tart finish. Again, no cherries. This was quite delicious, and paired perfecty with our cheese plate, but I would never ever guess this was a cherry beer. zacgillbanks (5128) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. A hazy red brown beer with warming spicy cherry flavours, creamy almond and vanilla notes and a smooth, slight tart finish. baraciisch (3163) - California, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Reddish brown in color... Aroma of sour cherries and light malts... Flavor is less complex than I would expect from Mikkeller, slightly tart with notes of almonds on the finish, but not terribly sour... Decent

Bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Hazy red color, lightly creamy off-white to slightly beige head that diminishes after a short while. Smell malts, sugar, sweetness. Taste malts, some sweetness, red fruits like cherries. Doesn’t taste like 8% ABV at all.

Bottle @ benzai thx to myself. Very hazy red colour with a small creamy white head. Smells sweet, some hops, some iron.. Not a lot of smell. Tastes malty, sweet, red fruits but also quite a lot of iron. I don’t like iron in the taste. Medium body, soft, fitting carbo. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - DEC 29, 2012
37.5 cl bottle and served in my smaller Tripel Karmeliet glass: Pours a nice reddish amber hue with an initial big frothy slightly off-white pinkish head that left very good lace upon the glassware. The aroma has sweet cherry extract character along with some strange band-aid medicinal notes. Some nice almond and toffee vapours along with a hint of oak. The taste has a medicinal, sulfur and minerally off-putting quality. The cherries taste fake as well, I expected a nice tartness I got instead big sweetness. The almond notes and some earthy notes are it only redeeming qualities. DRAIN POUR!!! Even the finish of the mouth feel seems completely wrong. What a waste of my monies. Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pours murky brown, frothy white head, malty fruit aroma, taste is weak fruit quite sweet slightly bitter. Adequate. DeputyAndy (636) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle. Pours a hazy peach amber with a ton of head. Aroma is sort of a muddled earthiness with some fruit coming through. Taste is very sweet, but not over powering. Slightly nutty, more sweet than it is tart. Very old world earthy. i like it ClubGonzo (5668) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew on Christmas Tasting 2012. Pours a deep hazy orange body with a small off-white medium head. Aroma is mild tones of fruity honey and red berries, hint of grains and not much more. Taste is mild nutty fruity, cherry-like tones with faint traces of almonds and grains. Full body medium carbonation. What’s all the fuzz about? This beer is neither extreme nor represent the full dessert (Ris a la M’ale) which it purports to do. As far as I’m concerned, it’s just a bit dull. Not bad, though.
