Hazy dark brown beer with creamy beige head. Aroma is malty, stuffed fruity with salty accents, has hints of caramelized malts and flowery hops. Taste is complex, fruity, woody very sweet, spicey and end with a well ballanced bitterness of hops and fresh chesnuts. At Carlo’s Mikkeller tasting. MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2006

Spicy like "Glögg" alright. Ginger, cloves, coffee grounds, cummin and licorice. Salty. Too much spices and to little beer.
<i<Bottled. Very dark brown, creamy head. Aroma of ginger and cloves. Sweetish, lightly roasty and heavily spicy. Medium to full bodied with clean mouthfeel and notes of tar and coffee. Herbal bitter finish. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 30, 2006

Very deep brown colored beer with a tar like browness and a stabille brown^beige head. Aroma is very hoppish and spiced. It has impressions of caramelized onions, wild flowers, BQQ residue of meat on a grill, faint touch of bitter orange peel and coffee. The taste is rich and medium dry. It has a good ballace between the bitter, the malts, the alcohol and the dry fruityness. This beer is stout build with a citrussy freshness untherneeth. Spices are well integrated and the bitters gives loads of refreshment. Afthertaste is burned bitterish, dry hoppy, slight citrussy and bitter spiced, bitter orangepeel, cloves and nutmegg.

An opaque brown beer with a reddish shine when held against the light, underneath a thick brown crown of head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy, I pick up cardamom, anise, and cloves, besides notes of oranges. The flavor is sweet and extremely spicy - a bit too much for me - the spice combination makes the mouthfeel extremely dry - makes my tongue like sand paper. The spices picked up are again cloves, cardamom, and anise, but also cinnamon. When the spices fades a bit a citrusy notes comes thru, mostly like lime - but very soon after the extremely dry end sets in with the spices still lingering around.
Drinking it by itself I find a bit too much, but I think it would suit sweet christmas cakes very well.
Reddish brown colour with a tan head. Sweet malty and spicy aroma, cardamom is one of the spices. Malty flavor with lots of spices, cardamom and anise. Long spicy and a little hoppy aftertaste. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Opaque, dark brown with a very handsome, beige cappuchinoish head. Very spicy nose with cardamom in particular blending in with floral notes from the aroma hops. The body is quite full with lots of roasted malts and bucketfulls of Christmas spices battling with a markedly bitter hoppiness for attention. A "Jägermeister beer" as Ivan suggests is quite a good comparison. 280106 agr (22) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - JAN 24, 2006
Here comes a late rating: X-mas came in a bottle with a little red hat on. Nice! It looked good, almost black and with a great head. It smelled nice, spicy and hoppy. Unfortunally id didnt like the taste. Too much chistmas tree! Not bad, but hold back on the spices and pinetrees next year.
