750ml, $13.99, from Total Wine & More, Roseville. Pours a very dark brown, nearly opaque with a large tan head that reduces to a pillowy foam. Aroma is hoppy at first, cinnamon, candy sugar. Very floral also, and some powdered chocolate within as well. Pretty complex aroma - very nice. Wow, this flavor is unique, new to me, and damn good! Hops meet chocolate at the forefront, lurking behind are floral flavors, white cane sugar, a little cherry/chocolate liqueurs. Again, very unique, very individualistic - very Mikkeller. Medium viscosity, average mouthfeel for the style. Another freakish concoction from Mikkeller that somehow works. And in gorgeous fashion. You come to expect greatness from Mikkeller and it is delivered; every fuckin’ time! Overall, excellent to world class. Thanks again, Mikkeller. Bottle from South Bay Drugs and Liquor: Created a thick fluffy head that left behind a ton of lace. Appearance was a dark brown that was murky and near being opaque. My nose detects a lot of green freshly harvested hops with a minor presence of hard liquor perhaps a cognac or spiced rum. The flavor is initially sweet with a bitter finish and contains a range of different flavors such as oily hops, spiced rum, fruit cake, and dashes of spices that I am unable to pinpoint. A Christmas beer that surely surprised me and was actually quite tasty and packed a warm touch of alcohol. Pwn3d (1958) - Manhattan, New York, USA - DEC 5, 2009
Bottle at Gingermans. Cocoa and notes of festive pine spice. Belgian strong ale feel about 10% imperial stout. boozy, slightly lacking balance. evergreen0199 (3570) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2009
On tap at Pigs Ear beer fest 2009. A deep red/brown pour with beige head. Christmasey aroma. Malty, fruity, sweet, spice taste. A nice festive brew from Mikkeller but brewed in Belgium. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 5, 2009
Dark red-brown colored, little light brown head. Cloudy appearance. Chocolaty aroma with spices and dominating licorice, some berries also here with mild alcohol. Medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with licorice also dominating, some grains and berries here too. Aftertaste has rather obvious alcohol.

On tap at Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen.
Very dark brown, a little on the cloudy side. Small foam.
A lot of coffee, chocolate and orange in aroma, not much Christmas spices.
Nice malt sweetness, nuts, hops, body rather heavy. Despite that a surprisingly fresh and easy to drink beer. Did not notice the rather high content of alcohol. Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - NOV 29, 2009
Bottle. Dark brown colour with a medium-sized off-white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, malt and spices. The flavour is hoppy, malty, chocolate, some sweetness and spices with a hint of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied, finish is quite long and dry. bermod (119) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - NOV 28, 2009
Sweet, belgish aroma with citrus fruits, oranges and maybe mango and pineapple. Some sweet chocolate also. Sweet, fruity, a bit belgish and bw-alike malty taste. Palate is quite smooth and warming. Miksu (5052) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - NOV 17, 2009
0.75 l bottle from Alko. Dark slightly hazy reddish brown color. The aromas of citrusy-piney hops, chocolate, nuts, warming alchol and hint of raisins. Bittersweet flavor with citrusy-piney hops, chocolate, nuts and raisins. The finish is long, hoppy, slightly spicy and slighlty yeasty. Full bodied and very warming palate with hop resins in the finish. Nice balance between chocolate and american hops. Belgian and spice character is not obvious, but I think it makes this better. chrisv10 (18734) - DENMARK - NOV 15, 2009
30 cl draft. Clear red/brown body with small off-white head. Flavour is malt, caramel, sweet, spices and hop.
