Bottle. Great aroma of corky wood, red wine and whisky. Tastes equally clearly of whisky with a good sweet and bitter balance. Aftertaste with a great balance, but maybe a bit too alcoholic. Beer is black with a little head, which disappears quite fast.

28.12 2017, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Nice light brown slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is dry boozy, weeds, bark, oak, booze, peat, minerals, leather, soil, dusty cellar, dark malts. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, booze, peat, leather, dark malts, soil, dark sugar, paper, grass, ashes. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and dry boozy mouthfeel. Not really my cup of coffee, but fair enough.

37,5cl Bottle @ 2D2Despuma Tienda, Barcelona, Spain. Dark brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma is malt, raisins, dark fruits, whiskey, oak. Taste is malt, caramel, yeast, dark fruits, chocolate, whiskey. Full body, soft carbonation.

Alebarasi (177) - Dobrova, SLOVENIA - DEC 25, 2016
Pours deep black amber color with no head at all. Gentle carbonation, no lacing, full body, oily texture. Sharp and kind of artificial aroma of whiskey, acetone, prunes and other dark fruits, punch, red wine, berries, biscuits, apples (calvados), aromatic wood, licorice, molasses, vanilla, some smoke and oak. Sweet and fruity taste of caramel, roast, spices, licorice, some cocoa and Christmas spices. Although it’s an interesting brew, I can hardly classify it as a beer. Starts like a wine and ends like a whiskey. It’s quite an easy-to-drink one, but you think, that you’re drinking something else.

Aroma: Oak and whisky with fruits and prunes. Flavour: Dark ripe berries with fruity sweetness and strong tangy notes. Aftertaste is cherries, caramel and fruity bitterness. Mouthfeel is alcoholic warm and creamy. Colour: Very dark brown with a fading offwhite head. From: Bottle @ Voldby Købmandsgård Nov. 2016.

Habanero (4908) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - NOV 3, 2015
Bottled. Pours deep dark brown with small, lacing tan head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, yeast, dark fruits, whiskey and spicy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry, with alcohol notes and slightly bitter. Medium to full bodied, oily to creamy texture and flat to soft carbonation. A nice Ale indeed.

FraekkeFyr87 (788) - - AUG 6, 2015
The aroma is full of candy, cane sugar, spices, chocolate, dried fruits and tar. The color is pitch black. The taste is full of sugar, sweets, spices, malt, chocolate, dried fruits and whisky. A really nice beer!

UPDATED: APR 23, 2017 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours deep brown, nose is funky, acetone, toffee, taste is a bit cheesy, dry, toffee. 2.8 Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is smoky, toffee, caramel, light spice, raisin, whisky, taste is similar. A lot nicer after aging. 3.9

mmahut (1858) - CZECH REPUBLIC - JAN 8, 2015
Bottle, 2011.. Pours in deep black body with no head at all, just a small tan ring. Aroma has wood character with a lot of evident alcohol. Not so strong on whiskey. Taste has high woody bitterness with light roasty sweetness. Spicy after taste. Body is full with medium carbonation. Oddly little bit more boring than the white wine barrel version which I find excellent.

ABT_S54 (352) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2014
375cl bottle served in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a deep dark brown with very little head but that can be forgiven for the almost chistmas pudding consistency and aroma. The aroma is as powerful as the strongest imperial stout. Aroma is whiskey and dark fruits loaded with Christmassy spices and goodies. Taste is chocolate truffle covered Christmas pudding soaked in whisky (and I mean loads of whisky). This is the best Christmas beer I have ever tried and I can’t imagine a better one coming along any time soon. Absolutely fantastic -a true luxurious Christmas beer that you just wish would last for ever.

olio (10668) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 13, 2014
375 ml bottle. Vertical with 2011 regular version. BBE 21.06.2018.
Pours dark red-brown color with a minimal head. Wooden malts and whiskey on the nose, caramel, honey, some port notes too. Dark berry notes on the flavor, alcohol comes through, caramel and lots of sweet honey notes too. Not very pleasant, a bit too all over the place. Regular 2011 is much better.
