Bottle sample @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012. Again, tasted side by side with the Speyside and really the difference in BA is minimal at best. Certainly glad not to have forked out the overpriced € these beers usually go for.

Benzai (15486) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2012
Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival 2012. Pitch black opaque colored beer with a small brown head on top. Smell and taste malts, a lot of barrel ageing, sharp and winey with a touch of wood. Maybe a bit overdone, but nevertheless I quite like it. A bit sharply carbonated with a medium body.

Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - DEC 12, 2012
from Erzbierschof - dark beer under a moderate foam left; Portwine-like aroma, pretty maderized with notes of chocolate and candi sugar; low carbonation and sweet; full-bodied and sticky; a fair astringency from the wood barrel; gently dry and with long notes of wood, Madeira and licorice

SlackerMads (3360) - DENMARK - DEC 12, 2012
Bottle. Black with small dark brown head. Aroma is intense paint/glue/acetone, roasted malt, fruit. Taste is soft and sweet with notes of spices, wood, wine.Vinous alcoholic finish. Oily texture, soft carbonation. Unbalanced and too much glue.

fonefan (48789) - VestJylland, DENMARK - DEC 12, 2012

Bottle 375ml.

Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, spicy, resin, alcohol, ruff, red wine, wood, oak, dry wood. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, ruff, chocolate, vinous, acetone. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. IMO. not balanced at all - bad work Mikkel - taste the beers before you sell them !! [20121110]

38cl, Vintage 2011, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2012, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, spicy/woody and slightly vinous, not balanced, cloudy, small head, nice X-Mas brew, yet very expensive!
