Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenneth. Pours rich brown with a creamy khaki head. The nose holds leathery fruits, a bit of wet earth, subtle toffee. Medium to big sweet flavor with lots of dried fruits, more earth, wet leaves, fruitcake, toasted bread, toffee. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Mild warmth to finish, plenty of leathery berries, slight earthy bitterness, faint mold, more fruitcake. Not bad at all. antonstoop (329) - - JAN 12, 2014
A dark brown beer with a nice thick white head. Smell is fruity, chocolat, grand marnier and light coffee. A medium bodied beer, with a nice carbonation. Taste is soft, light spicy, chocolat, malty, grand marnier and alcohol. The aftertaste is dry, with alcohol, grand marnier and cherries. A nice BA version of the santa little helper.

Dont drink this one cold. Treat it like red wine. Let it grow, take your time! Let it discover your tongue and your mouth. It is a beautifully complex ale with a remarkable presence of grand marnier!

Bottle sample at Essen Kerstbierfestival. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, malt, fudge. Flavour is over moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. The grand marnier is noticeable in the palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. 77ships (11838) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 16, 2013
375 ml. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Bottled on 28/03/2013. Reddish dark brown with a small but solid tanned / mocha head. Sweet nose, candy, liquorish, sugary, touch roast underneath. Less Grand Marnier in both smell & taste than expected, I was pretty enthusiast about this barrel but both here and the Mikkeller’s X-Mas Porter that was also aged on Grand Marnier barrels, I feel like I came short, too bad. Sweet taste, faintly too light body, liquorish, lots of it, sweet cookies, gingerbread, warming, faintly herbal in the back, slightly watery. Body is a bit too light. Honestly expected a bit more here even if it is not a bad brew.
