Bottle (33 cl), courtesy of Nisse666. Deep chestnut, large beige head. Sugary and caramelly with some faint roasted notes, salt liquorice and spices. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Sweet, low to medium bitterness. pintbypint (3767) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 14, 2012
750ml brown bottle. 10.5% abv on import stick, 10.9%abv on beer label. Deep dark brown pour, kinda murky. tan head, frothy, creamy and sticky at the edges of the glass. Nose has dark chocolately malts, spruce, toffee, black liquorice. Taste has cocoa, chocolate syrup, spruce, alcohol, spice, marmalade, some odd saltiness. Malty finish, cocoa powder, yeast, spice, a little bitterness. Medium body, light in the mouth, relaxed carbonation. Pretty big beer, some aging would definitely round things out. Overall, some interesting flavours, but just to big a beer to really get into at the moment.
