Bottle poured into glass. Dark brown color, murky and slightly muddy. Good carbonation and head retention. Aroma has traces of apple brandy and is slightly boozy. Flavor doesnt carry too many Christmas flavors but its still damn good.

Im not overly impressed with this beer. The scent is thin and weak. Hardly so you know something. The taste is better me, but just okay. The aftertaste is left for a little while but not for long. That said, I was not impressed with this beer. I have a Vintage 2011 in stock, which I hope is better.

Pours out a dark, viscous engine oil with a creamy short lived tan head. Purely opaque body with a few bubbles popping on the surface. The nose is supremely rich and heavy with big chcocolate malts, a woody earthen malt and a hint of fresh vanilla. A hint of booze and just an incredibly rich aroma. Sugary and candied malts with a rich chocolate malt, earthy roasted malts with hazelnuts and vanilla. Rather smooth with a hint of alochol heat on the finish. A really good beer, but it could use a bit of ageing.

Bottle on Christmas day. Pours Black with a beige head. Hearty aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and booze. The flavour is classic Belgian yeast with a nice malty sweetness and a little bit of background spice. Berries and prunes. Very smooth considering the alcohol content. I found this beer to be elegant and probably the best of the day.

750 ml bottle. Aroma consists of chocolate, dark fruit (plums, raisins), soy sauce, alcohol. Pours opaque muddy brown with a large tan head with excellent retention; leaves lace. Taste is sweet and savory, sour and meaty, oxidation, soy sauce. Heavy body crushing my tongue, velvety mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea right now, but a quality product.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. My 1600th rating, yo ho ho. Deep dark brown pour with a fading yet persistent muddy tan head. Sweet candy nose of dark fruit , xmas cake, and booze. Creamy, slick mouthfeel. Rich boozy and warming .Great festive sipper for sitting next to the christmas tree with the rain lashing against the window. Essence of the season.
