Pours deep chestnut with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has sweet caramel, light toasted, light ashy. Medium carbonation, fine light dry and a bit thin mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, vinious, light raisin, soft nutty and a bit of booze thearmi (31) - Riga, LATVIA - JAN 3, 2014
An excellent winter beer, a rather strong one, but it has loads of tastes inside it. Some spices, some bitterness, some sweetness. I really love this brew. onceblind (10330) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Aged 0 years. Dark brown pour with a hazy ruby highlight, under a thin rocky beige head. Nose is wonderfully chocolaty with a little earthiness and sweet toffee, perhaps a touch of coffee as well--yes, definitely coffee on the nose. Flavor is dark and delicious with coffee and bittersweet cocoa notes, a touch of Christmas spice, and earthy toffee. Yum! Night_Cap (119) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - SEP 5, 2016
Bottle 750ml (2013) – cellared for 3 years. Served at room temperature. Pours a deep, dark, hazy brown (virtually black). Head is large, dense, tanned and lasts superbly. Aroma is rich and complex with strong notes of Pedro Ximenez, muscatels (strong), burnt caramelized dates (strong), dark cherries, burnt caramel, chocolate fudge, treacle and Christmas pudding spices. Flavour is extremely smooth and slightly vinous with a light toasted bitterness; sultana’s (strong), toasted date loaf, stewed plums, burnt caramel, ruby port, rum and raisin chocolate, golden syrup (light) and some mixed spices (ginger/cinnamon/allspice) in the finish. Full bodied with light carbonation, an oily texture and a long warming finish. AWESOME Christmas ale! 77ships (10844) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 15, 2013
75 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Pours a very dark brown near black with a solid mocha head. Nose is pretty heavy on liquorish, lots of bitter roasted malts, coffee grounds & faint dark fruits. Taste is heavy on dark roast, roasted malts, bitter coffee grounds, lots of liquorish, some herbs, candy, light fruits. Body is substantial, light ground feel. Pretty solid stuff, not exception, personally I prefer these beers way more on the sweeter side, this one focuses almost exclusively on very heavy roast & bitterness.

This was fantastic. Slightly soured, it seemed, yet wonderfully full and nuanced. This is not a hop-bomb. This is great. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JAN 6, 2014
Not bad, but there are considerably more that are a lot better. Indeed, this is really a quad -- strong dark fruit notes -- and there truly is not much going on with Christmas spice. Approach it as such, and it's pretty good.

, CPH - dark brown pour with a good sized tan head and persistent lacing. Roasted malty goodness, Christmas cake/pudding like, dark fruits and spice, brown sugar, some slight choc, and vanilla at the end. Lovely.
Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Very dark brown to black color with a deep dark red glare coming through, small light brown head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, caramel, slightly coffee, a touch of sweet. Nice one! VsXsV (4528) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 18, 2013
