Draught at Mikkeller & Friends. Clear red-brown coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Roasted aroma of licorice and dark chocolate. Light roasted flavour of licorice with notes of caramel. Light roasted finish.

Deep brown beer, big frothy beige head. Good retention. Dark malts including roasted one and American hops as citrus, spice form the aroma. Light body. Thin to oily texture. Roasty taste with light coffee touch. Hoppy finish: floral, spicy, citrus. Light to medium bitterness. This beer drops the conventional Schwarzbeer tradition and doesnt really offer any craft innovation. Decent it is. Interesting it is not.

Tap at Urban House. Really not what I expect of schwarzbier. The body is really thin, and the overall flavour composition is mostly fruity, estery, with a bit of roast. Overall not bad, but kind of like a thin porter.

Turboninja (570) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 26, 2016
Light aroma with a bit roasted malts, chocolate and some nut/vanilla. Pitch black color with medium light beige head. Medium/light taste with slightly bitter roasted malts, chocolate, a hint of smoke and licorice. Averagely balanced with narrow/medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with slightly roasted malts and licorice. Light/medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, bit light in every aspect but drinkable. Aroma promises more than taste gives.

Bottle at home. Reddish black colour with a frothy head. Hop forward with dark depths of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Moderate bitter finish. Moreish.

330ml bottle pours black in color with 2 fingers of light brown head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate with roasted grains and herbal notes. Taste is a roasted grain, grassy and herbal hop bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness and a light smoky finish. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a nice black beer that I recommend for others to try.

Nice and light. Hops taste of grass with some citrus and floral tones. A little coffee and caramel in the malt. Goes down very easily - decent session beer.

Under name "Sfr" in Estonia. Dark, almost without head. caramel, hops and chocolate in aroma. Creamy, crispy, bit watermelon mixed with dark roast cocoa in taste. Very good!

Vestergaard (1863) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - JUN 5, 2016
On tap at Mikkeller Bar Aarhus. Pours a clear dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma has toasted, roasted and slight caramel malts, some fruity hops, light chocolate, but despite having lots of speciality malts, its not super roasty. Taste has a light hint of smoke, chocolaty dryness, pretty sweet and light at the same time, light roasty and hoppy bitterness. Pretty decent actually! Average carbonation and a rather light body.
