Rating number 100!! Had this right after Black as coal. Not as complex as that one, but still a very nice brew. Chocolate dominates the flavor. Booze not as sweet in the ending, but still a good brew. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2009
Bottle. Very similar to my rating Black as Coal, but without quite the intense chocolate notes, little evidence of oak complexity, and a slightly metallic coffee note. Still quite good, but just a touch of a letdown after the Coal. LilBeerDoctor (3904) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2009
Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich and malty with alcohol and bitter chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, vanilla, and sweet malt. Very similar to Black as Coal, maybe a little bit sweeter from the sherry. Again, it was good but it didn’t wow me.

Bottle from cgarvieuk. Pour s pure ominous black with very little dark brown head. The nose if rich with chocolate fudge, espresso, currants, and just a smidgen of oak. This beer is huge and almost unmanageable. I can now see why it come is such a small serving. Again lots of fudge, coffee, and fruit and a bit of oak. Huge body with ample carbonation and a roast finish. Really good, but gosh. Its a bit much. Habanero (4642) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2009
Bottled. Pours pitch black with a little, creamy brown head. Nose of roated malt, vanilla and chocolate. Sweet flavour of dark malt, bitter chocolate espresso and notes of sherry, liquorice, and oak . Oily texture. Very full bodied. More dry and bitter finish. An excellent brew to enjoy in small volumens.

The bottle looks very good, almost the same like a lot of other Mikkeller-bottles. Deep black in the glass, almost no head. Starts very dry and malty, scratchy, notes of bitter chocolate and strong coffee. Intense woody-scratchy finish. Nice brew! Thank you yespr for the bottle! TimE (5793) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 29, 2009
Intense beer with lots of sherry, butterscotch, dark cherries and brownies through out. I liked the fact the mouth isn’t sweet, which I really liked. The mouth was surprisingly smoky, which worked well. A bit vinous and hot, but a very nice, rich sippin brew. If you like high ABV beers, like I do, you’ll love this. 3fourths (9332) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 25, 2009
25cl bottle. Dense black. Semi-sweet burnt plum and charred currant nose with considerable roast and smoke. Not bad. Moderately astringent and abrasive. hirigalzkar (3133) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2009
Bottle. Look. Black, nice brown head. Smell: Soy, smoke, alcohol. Reminds me of Samuel Adams Triple Bock. Taste: Roasted. Dark, but still sweet, chocolate. Heavy smoke. Unexpectingly sweet and easy to drink. finol (3365) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2009
Bottle from Ölbutikken.
Pours black with a brown head.
Smells sweet, soy, smoke and alcohol.
