Hazy amber color with generous compact head. The aroma is meaty, roasted ham (not smoke), with a light herbal and minty touch, also iced apples (Ice Cider) and light sweat. It has the classic Mikkeller caramel and dry toffee flavor; the bitterness is strong, with resins that are a bit piney; the final is quite balanced long.
But overall this beer is rough.
Tap @ Mikkeller bar. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are malt, hops, caramel and is also a little earthy. mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 29, 2012
12 oz. bottle, pours an opaque orangey amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of tropical fruits, spicy hops and caramel malts. Flavour of oranges, spicy hops, and biscuity, caramel malt to back - well-balanced. Really nice and pungent, flavourful IPA. Excellent. chrisv10 (18226) - DENMARK - NOV 5, 2011
Bottle @ FOneFan. Hazy amber with medium tan head. Aroma is malt, peach, hops and caramel. Flavour is malt, hops, spicy, little citrus, medium peach, caramel, fruit and medium bitter. yngwie (17176) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 5, 2011
Bottle. A dense, beige head sits on top of a more or less clear, golden body. Piney, peachy nose with resins and orange peel. Not much room left for the maltyness. A bit catpee like in the mouth, full-bodied and smooth, a nice malty sweetness blending in and also a fine bitterness. The latter especially in the end. A tasteful and pleasant IPA, although a bit on the cat pee side. Could easily drink a few of this. 111105

Wowsers, I’ve rarely met a beer with an aroma like this - it’s like pouring caramel syrup straight up your nostrils! Slightly watery at the start of the taste, nothing really coming through the retronasals, despite the fizziness moving vapours around. There’s some dark sticky resiny hoppiness, and plenty of dark syruppy malts. I guess together they’re in balance with each other, but they’re both a bit disfunctional. Some huskiness and graininess in the bitter finish. Leaves the mouth a bit sticky. Very drinkable for 6.9%, it actually slips down quite easily, but in part that also means it’s a bit dull - there’s nothing saying "I’m here, and I’m interesting" (sorry, I don’t find sugar interesting). Perfectly adequate. I could drink it again.
Bottle @ home. Clear orange color, medium to full sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, loads of hops, some pine, lightly tropical fruits like melon and a hint of pineapple, good bitterness. Medium body, medium to full carbonation. Dedollewaitor (16357) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 5, 2011
