“Kristina, one lychee fruit lovin’ sour bitch, has always been a great friend to Mikkeller when we visit Chicago. This beer is made especially for her. A drink for our friend . . . cheers!”

Habanero (4798) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - APR 8, 2014
Bottled. Pours hazy golden with a large, white head. Aroma is of, brett, barnyard, wood and citrus. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied, watery to oily texture and soft carb. A nice and crisp Sour indeed.

MartinT (10037) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 1, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Soft lactic protrusions pierce this brew’s pleasant funk, as fruitiness varies from plain citrus to various tropical incarnations.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the misty amber-hued blond.
-The lambic lineage is quite evident.
-Acidity is prominent, but not excessive.
-Lychee is not expressed that clearly, getting lost within the blatant funk and citrusy acidity.
-This could have easily been an experiment from an actual lambic brewer or blender.

Bottle. Thx Clark!

HMOG 2014. Thanks random lady for walking right up and pouring me a hardy amount. This sour was muted in comparison to some of the day. Big bright fruity sour. Light and refreshing. In comparison to the Tart Lychee of NB this was much lighter but more vibrant. Pretty good.

Bottle: Thanks, Blake! Rusty amber colored body with nice clarity, & a fuzzy, white head that sinks to a ring very quickly. Aroma has some sharp, citric notes, under-ripe pears & lemon zest with only a very small hint of musty funk in the periphery. Taste isn’t as sour as you’d expect a beer called "Sour Bitch" to be. Abrupt, sharp tartness up front, but it quickly fades away. Apple skins, pears, mildly citric fruity notes... perhaps the lychee is buried in there. Light funk in the back-end with a hint of rustic oak, borderline mildew-y wood. Fruity, pear-like & mildly musty aftertaste. Not necessarily what I was hoping for, but still a good beer nonetheless. A mild lambic.

Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sourness, malt, hop, berries, citrus. Flavour is sourness, malt, hop, citrus, berries. Nice beer.

Marheb (6030) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 25, 2013

Poured a golden yellow color with aromas of light tropical tart fruit some light hay, a touch of oak and some lychee. Flavors are the same light on the palate, not overly sour but nice overall.

Zer0 (1224) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is tart, some ripe fruits, yeast, acidic and some exotic fruit. Taste is quite sour and light to moderate sweet. Some wood. Medium bodied and quite fizzy. Long dry sour finish. Pretty good.

Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Pours a peach golden color with a finger of gaseous bubbles. The nose is a bit barnyard, weird plastic fruit, a bit of citrus and some straw. The palate follows with not much tartness whatsoever but more of a stale barnyard forward beer with traces of lychee flavored aluminum, old newspaper and beeswax. Not feeling this at all.

JBPortland (1557) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - NOV 28, 2013
750ml bottle shared thanks to Lukaduke! Pours hazy orange with finger of head. Nose is weird funky apple, citrus, plastic. Taste is apple juice, woody, musty, plastic, chemical. Finish is tart fruit and straw. This was an old bottle. A bit weird.
