Bottle. Lovely deep violet hue with a lavender head. Aroma is earthy black currents with a sour note. Juicy black current flavour with a mild sourness and subtle funkiness, finishing dryly. A sweeter, fruitier, juicier offering than the kriek, which will polarize some of the ratings here Im sure.

Uno dei capolavori della linea fermentazione spontanea di Mikkeller, con intensissime note di frutta scura, ribes, che sollevano sensazioni acerbe e leggermente aspre che si fondono alla perfezione con lacidit avvolgente e persistente. Birra divina!!

Pours a ruby red color. Nose is fruity and tart, a myriad of mixed berries. Taste is delightfully sour, with mixed berries. Finish is dry and acidic and tart with a moderately long ending. Nice! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Bottle 330 ml split 2 ways. Beautiful purple pour. Very fruity lambic. Nice grape skin, wine and leafy aroma. Taste is definitly tart (citric) with some blueberry jams that adds some depth, light lactic feel also. Another good lambic by Mikkeller. Very close to the top examples.

3/25/14. 375mL bottle from Grassroots, split into two glasses. The wife noticed right away that one was clearer and less thick. Maybe should have gotten colder and poured carefully. Oh well. I will try both. Hazy purple red pour with a half-finger khaki purple head that cuts and doesnt lace a ton as I progress. Both glasses smell about the same, one a touch breadier, but mainly its crisp tartness, tart berries, acidic, sour even, a touch more crispness out of the clearer glass, both smell a touch jammy, borderline tannic. Tart flavor, generic berries, a little jammy, plenty acidic and sour. The yeastier glass is a touch earthier and gritty, but not all that different. Tasty enough, but I think I like the other Spontanales Ive had a touch better.
