Aroma: Big cherry, a lot of character form the barrel, dry white grapes. straight up chardonnay. Taste: Its crazy, the chardonnay wine is sitting right beside the cherries, Has a very familiar wine acidity to it & a very dry finish. Overall: I can only presume this was monitored very closely in the barrels to perfectly compliment the base beer (which it does) and it isnt a fluke beer. Fantastic offering from Mikkeller.

Fruchtig kirschiger Antrunk, weich, weniger sauer als die ungelagerte Version. Spritzig, rund, angenehme Aromatik, zum Ende trocken. Nett. 10/10/11/11/10/11

Bottled. Deep ruby colour with a pinkish head. Aroma is some slight sourness, cherries, wood and mild acidic notes. Flavour is sour and quite tart cherries with quite white wine like notes as well as some slight wood and mild earthy notes. The alcohol gives a nice "sweetish" edge to it. Not the most brutal lambic effects, but the sourness/tartness is there as are the other elements.

Zlotta (2518) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Clear, deep ruby with a pinkish layer. Sourish-fruity, slightly funky aroma of lots of cherries, almond, oak and raspberries. Moderately sour, very fruity and slightly funky taste of cherries, almond, oak and some raspberries, followed by a medium long, moderately tart and dry finish. Medium body, moderately astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle Pour at Before 9. Lovely cherry nose, big almond aroma front he stones, yogurt. A bit flat. Lovely dry flavor, rich and luscious cherry. Delicious, though not so much lambic depth.

(375ml bottle from VilleValla Pub, Linkping, Jan 16 2017) Pours a very dark red wine colour with a short lived dark pink head. Aroma of dark cherry jam, a rose or light red sort of wine note, oaky, marzipan, light funk, tart but not highly acidic, with a sweetness to the fruit. Flavour is more acidic than the nose, with cherry flesh and jam balanced by a sharp wine character and subtle vinegar, some outright grape notes, rather oaky, marzipan, a little vanilla, light leather and funk, finishing with a pretty high white wine acidity over top of lingering cherry flesh and a little tannic oak. Medium bodied with extremely low carbonation. This is all about the barrel marrying the fruit, with expressive bright acidity wine-heavy qualities that I do not remember from other versions. Nice, if not terribly deep.

Bottle split with my friend Duncan. A deep purple pour with a wispy pink head. The aroma is an intense rich cherry, Maraschino black cherries, super sweet in the aroma. Full bodied with a round carbonation much sweeter than the blueberry it is a tart candied dark cherry with a tart sweetness to it. Terrific. Great stuff, the blueberry was damn good but this is even better. My favorite of the night.

bottle shared with a friend, side by side with the malaga edition, the both poured a beautiful deep purple colour with a nice dark purple head on top. nose is just bursting with an intanse sweet and tart cherry fruit aroma, sweet almonds, cinnamon sweetness from the pits, cherry pie, oak, vinous wine, grapes, red wine, mineral notes, nice sour finish without getting overpowered. prefered this one over the malage edition (which added a extra sweetness to the beer) really one of the best beer Mikkel has made. lovely
