Koelschtrinker (21492) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
Saurer, intensiver Antrunk nach Kirschen. Spritzig, hintergründig ist die Fruchtsüße erkennbar. Vollmundig, etwas trocken im Mittelteil. Langer Nachhall. 11/11/12/12/11/12

Zlotta (3826) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2016 Sampled from 0.375 l bottle, best before January 2022. Clear, very dark red to ruby with a pinkish layer. Sourish-fruity, slightly funky aroma of sweet cherry, oak, some raspberries and almond. Moderately sour, fruity and a little funky taste of cherries, almond, oak and some raspberries, followed by a medium long, moderately tart and dry finish. Medium body, moderately astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle. Aroma of citrus, Cherry and Cherry Stone with notes of barnyard. The starts sweet but turns tart sour and finish dry. Balanced. The body is light and the texture is juicy. Lively carbonation. A nice one.

Bottle to tulip Consummation: Sour cherry, some earthy notes, but then the sour fades and I get sweet cherry Adjunct: Aroma is cherry, blackberry, lemon, and funk; pours a deep red with a one finger bright pink creamy head; medium bodied and not quite puckering; brilliant beer...why did I only buy one

375ml bottle pours a reddish amber color with a pink head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by cherries with some sweet malts hints of oak and yeast. Taste is a cherry tartness with a cherry and malty sweetness finishing dry. Medium bodied with good carbonation that pleases the palate. Overall, a very nicely done brew that is an excellent example of the style and deserved of a top 50 rating in it’s category. Highly recommended.

At home. Bottle courtesy of Maakun. Dark red with light pink head. Sweet cherries and sour cherries, blackberries and blueberries, bitter stones, faint metallic notes. Medium sweet, light sour, light bitter. Over medium body, soft carbonation, dry chalky feel, makes me think of a heavy Chilean red wine with lots of tannins.

2015 version, 7.2% ABV. Bottle shared. Very dark ruby with dark pink head that leaves a big ring. Lots of cherries and almonds on the nose. When sipping the almonds take over a bit with berry pits, hay, still a lot of cherries of course. Then some dusty notes, light funk, lactic sweetness, twigs, more hay. Under medium sweet and sour with lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Very good fruits, but it doesn’t work all that well with the base beer. Overall quite good though.
