Pours deep burgundy with a couple of fingers of dark pink frothy head. No doubt about it, this is one beautiful beer! Nose is strangely subdued, held back. Some cherry, oak wood, red grapes, basement aromas. Taste is big cherry sour with clear bretta, tasty but not very balanced. Body is light and refreshing with average carbonation.

Pours a deep purple red from the bottle with bubbly red pink head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of big deep cherry notes, jam like sweetness, musty funk, and a mild acidity. Taste is lemony acidic up front, quickly falls to huge cherry notes, then musty oak, funky farmhouse, and a dry, slightly sweet finish. Super complex, almost as good as some real Belgian lambic, which it is dangerously close to being.

Beautiful translucent cherry (!) color. Very small head that dissipates really quickly. Full-on wafts of cherry, wood, and the palate does not disappoint. Very fruity and most enjoyable. A lambic? Sure: this is good stuff, but I don’t think it gets to the very best krieks. That said, a great effort that I’ve enjoyed very much and will have again.

Tap at villains in Chicago. Drank just after the spontan sourcherry. Pours deep dark red. Nose is the fullest deepest cherries I have ever smelt. Palate is adding what the normal sourcherry one needed, intense cherry jam taste, some vanilla, a bit more sour. Amazing, I might make some people mad by saying this but this is as good as the cantillon kriekenlambic in my opinion.

2015 bottle. Pours a deep red with a medium purple head. Different, looks awesome. Heavy cherry is the theme of a slightly sour aroma. This is supplemented by lesser oak, plum, and mild earthy malt. Mild tartness is found in the taste, and that is expected. Its very dry and acidic. Not all that sweet. Cherry flavor easily stands tall here, though I get a good deal of oak as well. This feels a lot like drinking an unusual wine. Medium bodied, sticky in texture, average carbonation. This is very tasty, but I’d probably only have one. Still, drinking this feels kind of special. I respect this beer.

Bottle. Deep red-purple with a creamy pink head. Luscious rich ripe cherry fruit with spicy and oaky notes, tremendous density of fruit and depth of complexity. I didn’t want this to end.

Tap Takeover Mikkeller. Ligeramente ácida, compleja y equilibrada. Notas dulces, algo de vino. Sin rastro del alcohol. Una maravilla.
