Pours lightly hazy deep orange/amber/light copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on down the glass. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, green apple, pear, white grape, gooseberry, white wine, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, oak, musty funk, light leather/white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, gooseberries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, green apple, pear, white grape, gooseberry, white wine, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, oak, musty funk, light leather/white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour lemon, lime, green apple, pear, white grape, gooseberry, white wine, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, oak, musty funk, light leather/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a white. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, gooseberries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness balance. Lightly puckering, but not astringent. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is an awesome fruit lambic style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, gooseberries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced lactic tart/sour finish. 0.375 l bottle from ’Rudat’, best before May 2024, cellared for about two years. Clear, dark amber with a thin, foamy, rather dense, almost stable, off-white head. Sourish, quite funky and very fruity aroma of lots of gooseberry, lemon, rhubarb, oak, sweat, leather and some caramel. Quite sour, funky and moderately fruity taste of lemon, rhubarb, leather, sweat, caramel and gooseberry, unfortunately also some glue, followed by a medium long, rather tart, woody-dry finish. Medium body, very astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Bottle, 21/01/17. Pours amber orange with a small, off-white head. Aroma is very gueuze-like. Acidic, sour, bile, slight barnyard. Slight gooseberry aroma in the side. Taste is quite acidic, quite sour, some bile, the barnyard is quite behind everything. Tastes more like a gueuze than a fruit-lambic. The gooseberry hangs around in the background, giving it a slight, tangy twang, a nice twist, but is not as strong as the fruit/berry aroma in others of the Spontan-series.The gooseberries must’ve been of the green variety. Very nice. Very quaffable.

Bottle 2013 vintage. Slight hazy dark golden with short lasting fizzy white head. Quite some funk, hay, white grapes, gooseberries, light lactic notes, straw, apricot skin. I already get some gooseberries in regular gueuzes often, this is quite close to a bit stronger Boon one. Some light gasoline. Medium sour and bitter with light sweetness. Medium bodied. Pretty good. In short; berrie tart "lambic".
Pours hazy dark gold with some white head. Short head retention, some lacing. Tart, berries, grapy nose. Light body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is quite tart, berries, grapy. Dry aftertaste, Some strawberry notes and sweetness.
Sample from bottle, shared with X random people in the Cantillon Blåbær 2016 line in Copenhagen. :-) Pours a hazy golden body with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is tart gooseberries, stable funk, hay, citric peel, lactic acid and hints of cellar must, red berries and straw. Taste is stable funk, citric peel, red berries, hay, lactic acid and hints of gooseberries, wood and lemon juice. Light body, medium to high carbonation. Tapped out amber. 10ºSRM.
Nose has acetic and lemon juice aromas. Pretty typical of the Spontan series. Very nice fresh aromas. Inviting. There is a hint of wet straw and yogurt funk.
Mouthfeel is soda like. Palate has some solid pale and wheat malt flavors with unsalted saltines, soda biscuits, wonder bread. Sour comes in on the front and is not tart but has a sour that is both less tart and longer in the palate. There is an inviting juiciness to the overall palate. Of all the spontans, this one for me was the closest to a straight lambic.
