3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Ruby red, slightly cloudy, slightly pink head; aroma of cherries and funk; sour cherry flavour, very sour, but not overly sharp or tart; dry, slightly bitter finish; good kriek, would be improved immeasurably if accompanied by some food - preferably a sharp fruity dessert.
Bottle. Pours a clear ruby red beer with an unstable, light pinkish head on top. Aroma of cherries and barnyard fruits and funk, lots of bretty notes and a big oaky note in the back. Proper lambic aroma. Flavor is stringent and tart, sour cherries all the way and a bit unbalanced and slightly messy. Suits the character of a lambic well, but this one is still a bit juicy. Very fragrant though, well carbonated and long sour finish. Nice one. pushkinwow (2793) - Ottawa, CANADA - APR 2, 2017
Bottle. Ruby rust pour with a drywall mud head that fades to a thin film and nice ring around the glass. Musty cellared cherries with some epson salts, light acidity, some lemon rind and light funk. No hint of alcohol and easy to drink, nice sourness, slightly dry, high carbonation and moderate body, easy to drink. DwarfeD (3513) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JAN 13, 2017
375ml bottle at home. Hazy reddish brown with a medium off-white head. Medium body with ditto carbonation. Nice sourness with subtle sweet and bitter tones. Tart, cherries and oak. Nice! DocLock (10702) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2016
Draft at Whole Foods PM. Hazy reddish pour with frothy white head. Nose was cherry, yeasty funk. Tasted tart, with big cherry, yeasty earthiness, and finishing funkiness. Smooth and fruity. koleminer20 (3599) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 17, 2016
375 mL bottle shared by Gus with ebone1988 and myself. Thanks! The pour is a brighter red with some light pink or golden hues coming through. There is a good large head that "looks like a Petri dish" as so eloquently pointed out. The aroma is really funky. There is a watered down cherry with a lot of funk. We have agreed it smells like a cherry jolly rancher wrapped in a horseblanket. The flavors aware very interesting. Gus nailed it by saying that it's like you finished a cherry Slurpee and then decided to swap spit. It's got that watered down flavor with a strong yeasty funk. The mouth feel is syrupy and heavy with a decent carbonation but a strange finish. I am not a fan. Ugh.

Bottle shared in a three way...Mikkeller cherry tasting with koleminer20 and Gus. Aroma is very funky, mold, skins, cherry, slight sour. Appearance is red, light light pink head, hazy. Taste is very funky, a touch of sour, cherry, fresh cherry skins, different. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, fresh cherry skin aftertaste. Overall, this isn’t unpleasant but I thought it would be better. SpongeRuiner (1114) - Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2016
Got a bottle in Chicago about 2 years ago so the bottle does have some age. Pours a bright deep red color with a foamy white head. A nice fresh fuzzy cherry nose. A funky note mixed into a slight hop presence. Good and drinkable stuff. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 29, 2016
from PiBar - dark red beer with a moderate pinkishfoam left, light cheesy with notes of barnyard and cherries; full-bodied, fairly sourish and lively palate, long sourish and tart aftertaste of cherries lightbias (453) - USA - NOV 22, 2015
The beer pours garnet red into the glass, capped with a soft pink foam, fleeting in structure and minimizing from one finger to a thin blanket on the surface. The aroma is oaky, almost overwhelmingly so. It dominates the other accents of artificial cherry and wheat. On the first sip, I’m disappointed. Band-aids, and cherry with an oak flavor that translates too heavily into the flavor. Not a fan, and I am hoping that this bottle is not indicative of the usual presentation of this brew. Not likely I’ll finish the glass, let alone the bottle, and as it was a $16 dollar bottle, I’m beyond disappointed. kermis (13480) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 8, 2015
Bottle shared thanks to Maakun at the Get Kermis to 8k tasting. Pours very hazy red with a small pink head. Massive tart cherries in the aroma with a nice soft funk, dry cellar cobweb funk. Flavour is light to moderate sweet, light bitter and moderate sour with an almond character coming out. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
