Bottle at home. Pours black with a medium sized tan head. Aroma has cocoa and coffee. Taste has chocolate, bitter coffee and a touch of chilli pepper. Quite nice.

Black pour with a single finger espresso head. Not a ton of aroma, just a hint of peppers and a little chocolate. Lively carbonation. Chocolate and a hint of spice. Lingering spiciness with a slightly coppery note from the black malt. That coppery note is not overbearing, which is good. Rich, creamy body. No lace.

November 2017 - Bottle share in Hackney. Big thanks to Kenny. As 'Mikkeller Texas Ranger'. An aged bottle with the original branding (Mikkel in a cowboy hat). Opaque black with a foamy brown head that leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is pretty chocolatey – chocolate sauce and cocoa powder. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate covered berries, parma violet, salty, chilli heat is soft. Seems like the age has really integrated the flavours. Nice stuff. (8-4-8-3-16=3.9)

Cola black beer with a big dark beige foam. Hard to smell, some roastiness and liquorice on the nose. Roasted coffee and some sweet liquorice again in the taste. Light bodied but not too watery. Some chipotle bite but tastewise not my favorite.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 Bottle as a Chipotle Porter. Appearance is dark and opaque, with a bit of persistent tan sticky froth. Aromas are muted, but mainly roasted malts and coffee. Taste bursts out as coffee and malts initially with some sweetness, followed by fire breathing chillis through to a long finish. Nice full body, with slick sensation. Liked the way way the flavours are distinct without being all buried in a ball of flaming chilli!

9Nov2017 Intense dark toasted malts, chocolate, cacao. Hazy, very dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More dark malts, dark chocolate, chilli, cacao, dark coffee, soft carbonation, full bodied. Decent, but could be more on the chilli. Bottle shared at Leighton's - thanks to madmitch76!
