Got this one from a friend as a trade. Full-bodied spicy beer for the foodies who likes spicy food or chips. drjoeng (1325) - SINGAPORE - JUL 16, 2017
Poured out black. 40 SRM.
Nose has light medicinal, liniment aroma. Local aroma note: chin chow which is herbal grass jelly. Hint of fruitiness.
Mouthfeel is juicy. Palate is fresh biscuits, pound cake. Light juicy. Heat from chilies. Hops are burnt woody bitter.
Finishes with heat and burnt twig bitter. dfinney23 (3362) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2017
Surprised I haven’t already rated this, as I know I’ve had it a few times now. Beautiful dark pour with 2-3 fingers of mocha foam. Enough pepper heat to know it’s there but not so much it overpowers the delicious base beer. Good stuff! kaserov (799) - Oviedo, SPAIN - JUL 13, 2017
Color negro con capa de espuma marrón de dos dedos de grosor (retención decente). Carbonatación suave (perceptible pero muy ligera). Textura oleosa. Aroma a chili, especias, ligero ahumado. Algo unidimensional. Rica, aunque no pude terminarla. 33 cl. bottle @ Home (bottled as Chipotle Porter).
Aroma: quite intense aromas of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, licorice, maybe prunes and raisins and burnt caramel overtones. Some smoked notes. Very pleasant aromas.
Appearance: totally black opaque color with brown head. High head thickness. Foam made of very tiny bubbles. Very creamy head with high retention. It’s too dark to tell if it is hazy or not. Low to medium Brussels’ lacing.
Taste: low sweetness, medium to high bitterness, no sourness. Flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, burnt caramel. The hot from the chipotle chilis are quite noticeable but pleasant. There is a subtle smoked overtones which works pretty well, adding even more complexity to a complex beer. It’s sweeter at first and increasingly bitter as it goes to the finish and the flavors develop in the palate. Balance is on the bitter side. Alcohol content is hidden under the chipotles’ hot.
Palate: medium to high body, silky to creamy texture, low to medium carbonation, very long dry bitter finish of roasted coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some very good and subtle smokiness. The hot from the chipotles is not unpleasant at first, but it lingers a lot, maybe too much chili, maybe a little bit less of chipotles would yield a better and more pleasant beer.
Overall: surprising and very pleasant beer. It’s my first chipotle beer and it won’t be the last. Very good aromas and flavors. The chipotles warm the mouth and add a pleasant hot note and some very good and subtle smoked flavors. A very complex and pleasant beer. I enjoyed it a lot, but i think it should have less chilis to make a more pleasant beer.

The aroma is malt, caramel, bread, licorice, dates/raisin. Pours black with an amber hue, big tan head mostly lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is light sweet and medium bitter. The body is medium/light, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Very good!! The body is lighter than what I was expecting or wanted. rayaron (1886) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - JUN 12, 2017
Bottle at Budapest. As Mikkeller Chipotle Porter. Opaque black with brown head. The aroma is smoked with notes of chili, BBQ sauce, vanilla and some roastiness. Bitter flavor, quite hot from the chili, smoked with notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, BBQ sauce, hot and hoppy finish.
Franzen (614) - SWEDEN - JUN 3, 2017
Milk chocolate and syrup. The beer begins sweet and is rounded of by a mild roasty bitterness. The heat from the Chipotle comes in the finish, but is a bit on the weak side.
