On tap The Rover, Göteborg. Dark Brown, almost black. Aroma of dark chocolate. Taste real spicy (chili) but still it is a stout with bitterness in the finish. Really good, but i am not sure if i can separate this one from Mikkeller Hot Rod. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black with reddish tan head. Chocolate, oak and smokey whiskey aroma. Wonderful rich malty molasses flavor with whiskey, pepper and mocha coffee . Finishes with wood esters. Wish I could have picked up some of the chipotle..

Beerenberger (1602) - Fischer, Texas, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruit, and hints of chocolate. Pours a deep dark black with a mostly lasting eautiful dark tan head and no lacing. The taste is burnt malt, hints of coffeee bitterness and a slow chipotle burn. Excellant. Medium-full body with soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and a pleasing burn on the finish. Overall, this is a well crafted brew. While peppery beer are not my favorite style, this was enjoyable.

A-opaque cola brown with thin cocoa brown head. Minimal lacing. A-coffee and toasted malts overwhelm the nose. Some pepper, salt, smoke and chalk carry to the end. M-mild carbs with slightly watery feel for a porter. T-espresso, smoke, chalk and grains start the taste. Lingering, potent pepper takes over and has a motivated spicy finish. Pepper pretty much takes over the taste after initial contact, with earthy, vegetable notes clawing from underneath. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Color is thick, dark, uniform. Looks like motor oil (with this its a good thing!). Aroma is strong with coffee and unsweetened dark chocolate. Once it hits the palate is has a beautifully well-rounded smoky spiciness to it. Chipotle lingers throughout the chocolatey finish, which is fulfilling and robust while remaining smooth. Very little head, dark as night, and delicious.

From a 33cl bottle, pours deep black color with a thick drak beige head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolates, hops and spices. Flavors of coffee, dark chocolates, molases, candy, grass, hops and a kick of spicy chilis. Wow its the most spicy beer ive had. Maybe a bit to spicy for a beer. its keep on kicking with spices as you drink it. Heavy body, bitter and spicy. But very well made. I enjoyed this but one is enough. Very ineteresting.

tmrmwel (1900) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 5, 2012
On tap @ Pingvinen, Bergen. Pours an almost perfect black, with a fingerthick creamy and coloured head. Like a proper stout should. And, what? Not a stout? But the aroma is nice burned malts, with coffee, chocolate and toffee notes. The body is nicely creamy, with a soft carbonation. And the flavour is sweet with burned malts, coffee, chocolate and Hmmm, black pepper. And chili. Yes, lots of chili, and its getting hotter and hotter throughout the finish. Someone might argue that its a bit over the top with all this perppery chili? Well maybe not your average stout, but it sure kicks hard and strong for a 6,6 ABV. Nice one.

Tap at Black Sensation, Mikkeller Bar. Opaque black with a lively light brown head, good retention and lace. Aroma is hard roasted malts with notes of licorice and what might be a whiff of chili. Taste is sweet roast with a strong licorice note, a whiff of vanilla and a nice chili bite, that gets stronger the more beer warms up. A very, very good beer.

Burned platic and toast nose with prunes. Mahogany, thin beige head. Intense toasty flavor with mulberries. Sourwood and chili pepper at midpalate. Creosote finish. Soft carbonation. Hitting on all pointsd as usual for Mikkeller. The bouquet seemed a little off but I think that was some weird cumulative effect of the very different aromas together.

750ml bottle that I scored for $7 which s good because I would not have bought it at $14. Looks like your standard porter, black with a decent head. Smells slightly like a porter but here come the chipotles, uh oh....The flavor is overwhelming, straight chipotle peppers and adobo sauce smothering the porter to death. Both me and my friend found this to be very one dimensional. It wasnt gross but it wasnt tasty either, Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-09-2011 21:54:25
