Pours dark black with a thick creamy head. Nice robust porter with a chocolate chipotle taste. Very smooth and malty.

This has a really nice peppery finish, just enough to give a little tingle. The head is pretty much what you’d expect from a porter, thick and dark brown.

Complex aroma, appealing appearance and a wonderful taste! [short review due to it coming from my backlog]

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown that allows no light to pass through with a moderate brown head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Very pleasant aroma of chipotle peppers, chocolate, and roasted malt. The flavor is similar. The chipotle peppers do not dominate and compliment the malt quite well. Very mild warming from the peppers. There is a very mild smokiness in the flavor as well which I am assuming comes from the peppers. Very smooth on the palate and well rounded. Delicious.

ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Draft at Hop & Vine, Portland. Pours very dark, essentially opaque. Very slight tan head. Very little aroma, maybe a hint of chocolate. Lively mouthfeel, rich and malty, spice and chocolate rolls in at end of finish. Yeasty burn in finish as well, but not too spicy overall, add in a slight bitterness to a very complex finish and this one’s a winner.

Keg at CP&K. It pours near black with a light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, light smoke, chilli, dark chocolate and earth. The taste is charcoal, tar, earth, roasted malt, light chilli spice, smoke, charcoal, toast, coffee grinds and mild acidity. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, good depth of flavour and well balanced. Well done.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 En skummig käftsmäll.

Keg @ CPK. The pour’s black with a small espresso tan head. The aroma’s rich roasted malts. Smooth chocolate. Mild chili, other robust spices (nutmeg, some herbs etc). The taste is wonderfully balanced sweet chocolate syrup and light chili spiciness. Subtle, not over the top. Nice ashy bitterness. Medium body. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Great vitality, quite flavorful. Overall, a cracking effort. Much better than I thought it would be.
