Bottle from Voldby Koebmandsgaard. Pours very black with a large brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate and smoked dark malts. Taste is dark chocolate, smoked malts and some notes of coffee. Taste ends with the warming chili. The combination of chocolate, smoked malts and chili is perfect. Nice long finish of chocolate and chili. Nice tasty beer. aenima (335) - Askim, SWEDEN - APR 1, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2014 Aroma of chili and chocolate. Taste is similar. Also a little hint of tobacco. A little to much chipotle for my taste. This is one of mikkellers best beers. Erasmus_ro (3174) - Alabama, USA - APR 1, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2017 Bottle as Mikkeller Chipotle Porter, 09/09/17. Pours a very dark brown with a dark latte head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, some smokiness. Taste is roast, smoke, slight ash, slight burn in the back of your mouth. Slight smoke and chocolate. Alright, but not the exquisiteness of Texas Ranger. 8-4-8-4-15

Bottle as Mikkeller Texas Ranger, 01/04/13, thanks bluus. Pours a very dark brown, practically black with a cocoa-colored, really classy looking, medium-sized head. Like liquid milk chocolate. Aroma is a lot like cocoa, light chocolatiness, some smokiness, roast of coffee. The spiciness is somehow a bit sweet and there’s a light paprika-like fruitiness in the background. Taste is cocoa, some roast, quite a bit of smokiness. Not the smoked malt type of smokiness so familiar from rauchbiers, but a more general smoke flavor. Light wooden notes. There’s some wooden flavor as well as paprika on the aftertaste. Medium full with quite a bit of carbonation as well as a light burn from the chipotle. 9-5-8-4-17
Pours a rich deep umber color with a two finger khaki foam. The nose is roasty dark malts, light smokey chocolate and a touch of cinnamon spice. The palate follows the nose with rich roast chocolate that has an earthy mlight warming spice thats lowly heats up into a smokey peppery finish. Nice sipper that is best shared with a group but still highly drinkable and worth trying. gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - MAR 26, 2013
330 ml bottle - pours coffee brown with no head. Aroma of motor oil, liquorice, Dutch drop. Medium body with an immediate attack of mouth and throat due to the peppers. It’s too much and not gentle at all... Poured it, pity.

Bottle labeled as Chipotle Porter. Pours black with a large, brown head. Aroma of roasted malts and light chocolate with pepper notes towards the end. Roasted malt and chocolate flavors with chipotle and a little heat towards the end. Similar finish with a more spicy and lingering chipotle note.

Bottle - 750mL crowned under the Chipotle Porter moniker. Awesome multicolored and multi-layered dark, foamy brown head atop a black body. Strong roasted malt and peppery spice in the aroma. Dark chocolate and roasted malt make up the bulk of the flavor profile with the chipotle pepper spice bringing up the back end. there’s also some soft coffee notes and molasses as well. Body is medium with a moderate, creamy carbonation. Light stickiness to this as well and a mild peppery heat. Ends with a touch more heat from the pepper, more dark chocolate notes, roasted malt, spiciness, and light coffee notes. Yummy! conway (2210) - - MAR 18, 2013
Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Peppery notes are interesting and meld well with the porter. Inferior to Mexas Ranger as its missing the other supporting flavors.
