Draft at Taps Beer Bar Kuala Lumpur. The bar tender thought I might not like this beer, so he insisted I sampled it first! He didn't need to worry :-) Its really unusual to find a chilli beer, but this one was perfect. It was great to taste a spicy beer where the spiciness was from chillies and not from hops. Perhaps a little overpowering for some, but not for me. A great beer. Give it a try, perhaps with a curry! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Strefa Piwa, Krakow. Gorgeous in goblet, looks like an impy, dense black with dark brown head. Aroma is also big, and fresh with minty hop overlay and heat. No chili in aroma but in the throat for sure. Balance is fab, dry spicy finish with a natural acidity, chocolate. Stronger than expected, earthy dense Aztec spiced melange of flavors.

Pours nice deep brown with moderate lacing. Nice smokey and maltiness on the nose. The chipotle is overpowering for my liking. It dominates the flavour and leaves a lingering spicy aftertaste. Likely better with a meal but not or me.

Bottle shared at a cottage near Blokhus, summer 2012. Bought at Vinspecialisten Aalborg
Pours black with a brown head, very nice laces. Smells of roasted malts, coffee, hops, tar and peat. Medium sweet, quite smoky and peaty, some liquorice. After a while i get a very distinct chili pepper. Guess i found the chipotle chili... Very nice. It lasts and lasts and blends in with the hop finish which is medium bitter. Really want to try this again

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Dark brown/black with a minimal head. Aroma not as smokey as expected, dark malts and chocolate dominates. Perfect amount of chilies, the heat from the chipotle increases with every sip without taking over. For stouts I prefer a heavier body so if this would have been an imperial stout I would have appreciated it much more.

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. Poured thin and dark brown / black with a velvet-brown head that exploded with roasted coffee malt aromas. Taste was long and complex and ran through sweet cameral to bitter coffee with a spike of chipotle chili in the middle that tingled the tongue then slowly faded from the palette. Awesome beer.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Looks like a thin stout when poured but the smell of this one is amazing. You can really smell the chipotle. Chipotle comes through in the taste and it is a little spicy. The heat gets better and better as you sip on it which is exactly what I would want from a beer brewed with chili peppers. Best chili pepper beer I’ve had.

Pretty much black. Into the goblet w/o much head. Fat rich malt, lots of chocolate and dark fruits. The palate has a stack of bitter chocolatw (not even close to Mexican) and a subtle chipotle character. Some rounded ancho notes, lots of deep chocolatey porter stuff. I personally wod like it smokier but this is nice.
