Pours pitch black with brown medium head. Aroma of coffee, spices, liquorice and burned grass. Taste of chocolate, espresso, wood, chili, pepper and smoke. Could be a little more chili in it to get more flavour than just a dry bitterness.

Sample thanks to Armin. Dark chocolate brown pour, little carbonation and an aroma of chipotle peppers(and nothing else.) Flavor is light malt, spicy chipotle peppers and a nice smokey heat that lingers. Very good for a chili beer!

Texas Ranger kaatuu lasiin mustana ja muodostaa ylleeen ruskean vaahdon. Nytt ntilt lasissa kauneine vaahtoineen. Tuoksussa on paahtunutta mallasta, suklaata ja kahvia. Maussa on hieman polttelevaa chili, paahtunutta mallasta, kahvia ja tummaa suklaata. Tss on mys kuivaa katkeruutta. Tm olut on tytt Chuck Norrisia.

JDBaker11058 (2008) - Maryland, USA - APR 28, 2012
Appearance: deep near-black with a huge, rocky, creamy dark tan head that very slowly shrank to a thick cap and collar, with generous lace rings. Aroma: strong notes of chocolate, a whiff of coffee, growing notes of pine as it warms, and some black pepper. Taste: dark bitter chocolate, followed by roasty (almost burnt) coffee and pine, with black pepper spice. Finish: slowly rising (but low-burning) chipotle heat, with a chalky-dry mouth. Notes: Awesome. Ive tried a handful of beers made with peppers (chipotles, acho chilis, etc) and this is by far the best and most nuanced. Its really just a great porter with some nice chipotle notes that add depth, spice, and adventure without overpowering or dominating the backbone of the beer. Incredible palate as well: smooth and creamy, almost like liquid velvet, which really lets the flavors shine and the peppers sparkle. Bottled as Chipotle Porter, bottle from the Perfect Pour in Columbia, Maryland.

beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - OCT 10, 2015
Draft. Deep dark mahogany. Creamy light brown head. Dry. Lighter medium bodied. Silky smooth. Peppers layered in perfectly, especially in aroma. Chocolate, cocoa round things out with touches of licorice and molasses. A light roast and just enough sweetness to go along with the moderate heat and light smokiness from the peppers. Top notch.

Bottle. Black body with large smooth brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, smoke and hints of chilli. Taste is first chocolate with smoke and hints of caramel and some chilli. Very smooth and creamy mouth feel. Aftertaste is first sweet roasted malts balanced by some bitterness and later on it gets hot. This was the first beer with chilli I enjoyed a little bit.

Kita (1987) - Koper, SLOVENIA - SEP 5, 2014
Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Murky dark brown color with medium creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruits with some peppery hints. Taste starts with moderate sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by chocolate note and fruity acidity. When beer gets warmer chipotle chili peppers break loose and create warming and tingling spicy mouthfeel, while spiciness is still present in medium bitter aftertaste. Full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Above excellent...

Nice roasted pepper aroma. Great dark color with foamy dark tan head. Full bodied and thick. Great blend of roasted malt, wood and just a hint of chipotle pepper. Some kick on the back end.

GAManiac (1944) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 28, 2010
750ml bottle. Pours a nice deep chocolate brown that settles in black in the glass. The head is tan, thick and enormous, refusing to go anywhere and leaves sheets of lacing. The aroma is massively roasted with almost a burnt malt character. Plenty of cocoa powder and only the faintest hint of chipotle pepper, though it does grow as it warms. The taste is much like the aroma except for the finish. The start is all about the black malts, heavily roasted, with chocolate and hints of espresso. But the finish is where it gets interesting with the pepper flavors coming out and leaving a serious burn on the palate after each sip. The mouthfeel is smooth and close to full bodied for a normal porter. This thing almost has the feel of a Baltic porter, which is impressive given the ABV. There is certainly no doubt that Mikkel knows his way around stouts and porters and this is one of the more interesting ones Ive had. Its a big, robust porter with a big dose of peppers in the taste. Certainly not the most drinkable porter, but very complex and tasty for a porter.
