Tap at Mikkeller. Hazy orange, white head. Fruity, juicy aroma, some sitrus notes. Fruity taste, some sitrus, apple(?), peach?. A light touch of salty sweat. Lovely hoppy finish, somewhat sweet. I really liked this.

14/IV/17 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 14/XI/17 (2017-445)

Clear dark orange beer, big irregular creamy yellowish head. Aroma: sweet start, strawberry jam, some fruity hops, caramel malts, very dense and heavy, love it! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very sweet start, malty, sugary, caramel, pretty hoppy, some ripe fruits, mango, caramel. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, some citrus, sourish touch, sugary still, some alcohol, caramel, slightly soapy, lovely beer!!

Bottle (from SIP). Pours amber with whiteish head. Aroma is sweet, rice, malt, sake like fruitiness.Flavor is sweet and bitter, rice, again sake like fruits, malt, citrus, caramel. Finish is sweet, dry bitter and boozy. Overall: feels like mix of beer and shitty-boozy sake, can’t say I’m enjoying it too much, but it is drinkable.

eduardovl (1449) - SWITZERLAND - APR 3, 2017
750ml served in a snifter glass. Pours a cloudy orange color, forming a small and low persistent creamy white head that leaves some spotty and lingering lacings in the glass. Nose is sweet and fruity. Strong notes of peaches, raisins and caramel. Notes of grapefruit and orange zest. Becomes quickly bitter. Good bittersweet balance. Heavy body. Low carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste. A mix of peaches with piny hops. A bit booze. Good drinkability. Not my favorite style but a good barleywine.

750ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a cloudy dark orange with thin white head. Nose is like an american barleywine, funky, malty, with a hoppy note. Flavour is boozy hot, bitter, while you can’t ignore the thick sweet body.

Oakes (17668) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 17, 2017
Has a dull amber, with no head. This has a papery yeast note, and then a light fruit note, Sweet, slightly stale, and with a fair amount of alcohol. It’s just a mess, really.

mcberko (17823) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 17, 2017
750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma is a bit cardboardy, with toasted malt, subdued caramel and rice. Flavour is pretty hot, with phenols, caramel, and toasted bready malt. Fairly light body, with a harsh alcoholic heat on the finish. Not the most refined of the Goop series. It’s decent.

3.7
Juks (649) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 9, 2017
From tap at Skuli, Reykjavik. Hazy reddish orange, small white head. Aroma is barley, raisins, bread, some vanilla, some acetone when cold. Taste is bready, hoppy, raisins, quite sweet, caramelly. Almost full bodied, well covered alco, medium carbo. The warmer the sweeter it gets, nice barleywine!
