Bottle. Yellow golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma and taste of saaz, pine, citrus. Sweet and dry mouthfeel and also sweet finish. Hancock makes a better and cheaper danish czech inpired saaz pilsner. marcus (10760) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 17, 2010
Bottle from Monument Wine. Pours into a pilsner flute a bubbly yellow, half liquid, half foamy head. There is a standard pilsner malt aroma and a light malt flavor with a dry hop finish. Not too bad for a pilsner. bhensonb (15861) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 7, 2010
Bottle from Berkeley Bowl West as Czech style pilsner. Pours slightly hazy gold with a 2 finger foamy white head. Aroma is primarily grassy. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is an odd malt/barnyard with a lot of grassiness. Goes fruity. Stone fruit fruity. And quite bitter. Whatever it is, it’s really tasty. lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 6, 2010
330 ml bottle. Rated @ 26.9.2009. Beerlando (3343) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 30, 2010
Pours a nice yellow colour with a small white head. Fruity, grassy and hoppy aroma. Same elements on the flavour too with notes of grapefruit, peach and flowers. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and oily texture. Nice bitter finish. Pretty nice.
11.2 oz. bottle, best by 4/29/2011. The pour yields a lightly hazy, medium golden-orange amber body. A monstrous head of ultra-dense, everlasting, craggy, cream-tinted foam leaves tall, jagged flares and feathered clouds of lacing all over the glass. Aromas are of sweet bread dough, hints of glazed muffin, lemon essence, and a touch of cream, all with a bit of citrusy, fragrant floral hops. Flavors are nicely balanced, again based in lightly sweet dough, and countered by some aged lemonpepper and citrus blossom hops. The palate sports a medium weight body with a relatively creamy base consistency and some soft, lively carbonation, finishing semi-dry. Overall, it’s a pretty solid pils. I’d like to see a little less sugar content, but it is good nonetheless.
