UPDATED: DEC 19, 2015 RERATE - still a frightfully good beer, but needed a bit of a bump up on the overall stakes as the hops seem to be more punchy giving it a better overall feel. ORIG - What better way to celebrate todays Dem victory than drinking a fantastic Merkin beer! Yes I know its Danish but I needed an excuse to drink this beer as it is frightfully $$$ in NZ. The brett is not as pronounced in this beer as the Rayon V, but in this case the subtlety adds to the beers flavour profile.

Bottle in tulip glass at home. Nose is bright sweetness, like cheap perfume, with dried and fresh fruits, some honey and rock sugar. Pours hazy amber, with a strong, thick white head that lasts. Taste follows the aroma, with lots of sweetness, dried fruits and flowers but with some bitterness. Medium body. Overall a decent wild ale, with the Brett doing its work, without going bonkers.

Hazy dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has caramel malt, some sweet, overripe fruits and some floral yeast esters. Taste is more yeasty, it even has some light brett notes. Also the sweetness from the aroma does not translate to the taste, its quite bitter and earthy, but its still fruity overall. Medium body with medium to high effervescence. Overall its a quite interesting beer.

Butelka Wygląd: barwa miedziana, lekko zmętnione, piana średnio pęcherzykowa. Aromat: Złożone. Wyczuwalna nuta dzikich drożdży, słodycz, nieco przypraw, winność, nuty ciemnego chleba. Dzikość zanika na rzecz karmelu. Smak: lekko słodkie, następnie lekka kwaśność, ktra szybko zanika, delikatna alkoholowość (początkowo lekkie rozgrzewanie w przełyku)

Bottle @ home. Aroma of lots of brett, light malt and some citrus. Clear amber with white head, lasting. Taste is light+ bitter, more brett and light sweet to dry. Medium body, oily/dry feel and bitter brett finish.

Polecam.

Pours. Dark copper color, slightly clear, with visually high carbonation and long lasting beige creamy head. Aroma reveals modern interpretation of its style: intense hop aroma, which takes on citruses, grapefruit, some stone, tropical fruits, supported with intense note of slightly sour grape (bretta). Flavor is practicalky the same as aroma, supoorted with crisp, slightly toasted note of malts, before finish steps forward gentle note of candy. Finish is dry, fruity bitter. Body is medium to full, texture soft, medium carbonation.
