(750ml bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, raisins, dates, and caramel. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, subtle licorice, vanilla, roasted malt, toasted coconut, and caramel. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - FEB 12, 2011
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt, with a little bit of smoke mixed in. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of chocolate and roasted malt, as well as a little bit of charred barrel notes and dark fruits. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice beer from Mikkeller.

It’s pitch-black with a huge, brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour is moderately sweet, perhaps closer to sweet with notes of roasted malt, licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and hints of dark syrup. The flavour is very well-balanced, pure and delicious – a truly nice one! wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - NOV 27, 2010
750ml bottle courtesy of the man himself, thanks a ton!!!!
pours a deep ruby red to dark brwon with a spongey brown head that retreats steadily. the aroma is very nice and very complex. it starts with tons of huge roasty notes, then goes into a red wine like profile in the middle, and tghe end is a deep and subtle sweet licorice and soft leather. sweet dark fruit notes meld the nose into the palate. prunes, dates, burgundy wines all are there in the taste, and an uplfting yeast underneath it all. truly a great beer; mikkel is a master at im-porters. wish he did more of them! Tap at Mikkeller Bar. Black with a creamy beige head. Berries aroma with notes of coffee and chocolate. The tart berries flavours blend well with dry chocolate. Nice. BeerChaser0078 (909) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 28, 2010
Bottle. Pitch black pour with a fluffy, lasting tan head. Aroma is fairly roasty with licorice, coffee and molasses with a hint of soy sauce. Flavour is pretty much the same with some added dark chocolate. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a long roasty, bitter finish. Very nice porter, big and chewy but subtle and complex. anders37 (26641) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 17, 2010
