pours extremely dark brown, selttles pitch black with a brown smooth head.
aroma is dry, licorice, coffee, roasted malts, very faint fruity flowery sweetness (hops), aroma reminds me of ølfabrikken porter and mikkeller beer geek breakfirst, if i swirl the beer i get a little acetone like note from time to time, but overall aroma is very nice.
flavor is very balanced, roasted grains, coffee, malts, sweet licorice. very well blended. the end is lots of coffee, roast and a little sweet malts and sweet caramel. aftertaste lasts for a very long time. taste is fantastic, lives up to the aroma and about as good as a porter can get without using wood and such tricks. Flavor is very well blended and presents itself as a whoe. Hard to figure the individial components. great brew. Grovlam (4252) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 21, 2010

On tap at KØ-10. A black beer with a dark beige head leaving lacings. Fruity aroma with chocolate and coffee, as well as alcohol. The flavor is sweet with dark chocoate and a little touch of cooked vegetables. Full-bodied and slightly warming in the mouth. Warming finish with chocolate. A nice beer for sure, sort of disappears among many of the bigger beers served at the Mikkeller stand at the festival. 100506 harrisoni (19024) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2010

Bottled. PItch black colorued. Dense brown head. Aroma of roast, brown sugar, caramel, spice, light smoke, toffee. Flavour of spice, roast, coffee, liqourice, sugar and syrup. Has a light herbal tone. Medium to full bodied. Dry roasty bitterness in the end. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2010
A Mes rate. Draught at Mikkeller.
A headless, opaque black appearance. Burnt chocolate and liquorice character. Lots of chewy fruit and so fairly apparent alcohol. Roasty and sweet in the finish. A little basic for a Mikkeller beer if you ask me but it’s still a very good beer.
