neongolden (1860) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2017
(Tap sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Extremely aggressive coffee notes throughout, a mass of fresh-ground beans and brewed espresso/cold brew, a core of some caramel and dark chocolate, heavily roasted character is a bit acidic, green pepper vibes, high bitterness, loads of persistent coffee in the aftertaste. Medium bodied for style, low carbonation, no real alcohol. Coffee overload, even when one loves coffee - the mashup feels muddled and it would have been nice to experience the individual component versions and think about the coffee's character, rather than just be bludgeoned by it en masse.

Opaque brown-black with a tan head. Aromas of roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, dark bread, herbal develop. Fine carbonation rather smooth bit creamy and full bodied. Sweet up front with a well built coffee roast bitter action going on. Lasting finish. Nice.
