Pours hazy amber with low off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, caramel malt, muscovado, honey. Taste is sweet and sweet, very big and bold, with only a light balancing malt bitter. Creamy, thick body with flat carbonation.

Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Orange/ginger colour. This is a big beer in every way. I would expect nothing else from Mikkeller. But it is not one of my favourite Mikkeller brews. Big whack of fruity hops in the aroma, leading to a very bitter and sharp hoppy character in the flavour. The malts come through very strongly also but it is rather sweet and accompanied by a powerful alcohol burn on the finish. Lots in here but I didn’t think the elements combined perfectly and I found the overall effect rather brash, even very slightly crude. Still pretty good, but not great.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2012 Orange beer with a lasting tan head. Fruity aroma - dried fruits, some hops, some roses, some wine. Relatively bitter flavour with some alcohol. Overwhelming full body, and a long lasting aftertaste.

øbenhavnske Øldage. These guys are definitely doing some great stuff with beer, there is no doubt about that. This was heavy and sweet, very sweet. Loads of sticky sweet, piney(pine needles), grapefruity characters, with some caramelly malt notes. Warming alcohol in the finish. Upon reflection, my rating may be a little harsh, but at the time i thought this was a little too much for me, and, yes, perhaps its not my favourite style.

First public glass from the cask! Big wonderful cheesey and hoppy aroma with dark fruits thrown in. Like rum raisins. Sweet, bitter, some acidness - just like it should be. Long nice clean ande warming aftertaste.
