Light aroma of Calvados (somewhat reminiscent of cognac) and lovely fruit rises from the glass. The taste is like port wine with distinctive alcohol and flavor of mandarin, plum and almond. Large vinous fullness with alcohol warming filling and light sweetness in the final. The finish leaves gentle tang of Calvados. A direct hit. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 31, 2009
On tap. Almost clear amber golden with a small off-white head. Intense, woody Calvados aroma with some caramel. Very full-bodied, lots of caramel, wood and vanilla with an extremely warming alcohol. Hardly any bitterness. To me the best beer at the recent Copenhagen Beer Festival 2009, and I was glad when the brewer revealed that this is gonna have a bottle release at some point. 160509 fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 3, 2009

Hazy dark amber color; small creamy head. Nice creamy aroma, very strong: caramel, apples (how?), possibly vanilla. Strong body, caramel flavor with strong alcohol feeling, apples again. Extreme as usual from Mikkeller. I prefer Barley Wines like the Bad Worse, but very enjoyable anyway!

Hazy brown color. I will say only that it has an excellent caramel flavor, woody, with warming alcohol.
Draught. [Beer festival 2009] Yet again a fantastic experience with an aroma that was quite amazing in my humble opinion. Spare white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Cloudy brown glowing color. Aroma was heavy sweet calvados, wood, nutty, vinous, bread, raisins, dates, warming alcoholic, mild toasted malty and caramel like notes. Very full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick heavy texture with some alcoholic feel in there as well. Heavy sweet flavor with mild counter bitterness. Lingering vinous fruity and wood like finish. Top dollar. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2009

Øldage 2009. Deep copper colored with a ring of foam klinging to the glass. Rich and rounded fruit aroma with overipe apples dominating. Refined caramellish malts and alcohol too. Very flavorfull. Bitter-sweet and vinous with a strong, grainy malt body. Rich appely fruitiness in the flavor as well. Notes of wood and toffee. Not very hoppy, but the bittering hops is there to balance. Big body. Thick mouthfeel. Complex, warming finish. Very very nice.
Tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival 09. Slight hazy copper color, medium creamy white head. Aroma of fruit, hay, cane sugar, malt, some pear or green apples? Taste of green apples, slight sweet, malty, quite some alcohol. Delicious finisher of a decent festival. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - AUG 18, 2013
