Draugt at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Well, I guess, if you are really into hoppy beers, which paralyzes your mouth and makes sure, you cant taste anything for a long time after you drank this, this must be a good beer, but if you dont .... lets just say, this one is more interesting than good. Draught @ Københavnske Øldage. This must be a candidate for the silliest beer of all time. Aroma is a tribute to hops and just the work of sheer genius. Only Mikkeller can do hops as good as they do and this is them at the very top of their game. Still cant get over how ridiculous it was. Flavour was just way too much. It felt like my tongue was going fall out. It’s like chewing your way through a nuclear reactor. Drinks like a 21% American stupid beer. Can’t believe it’s just 5% but in many ways I’m glad it is! Longest finish in history. Daftest beer ever. F**KING ACE!!! Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2007
Draught. I´m a hop head, so this is a beer for me no matter what. It´s a hazy amber beer with a off-white head. The aroma is extremly heavy of hops, there is alot of grape, pine and citrus notes, not much malt, but beautyfull aroma, the taste is also on the hoppy side, very one dementionel, but if you put 5k of hops for every 40 liters of beer it´s going to be hoppy. The taste is burning on the tongue and is pepper like, kind of nise though. The beer could have used more body, but then it would just have been like Big Tony, just more hops and less alcohol. The finish is very bitter and dry, and lasted for the rest of the festival.
A funny experimen and not bad at all for a hop head like me. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2007
Københavnske Øldage 07. Draught. This is a beautiful, orange-golden beer with a nice, creamy head. Are you out of your mind - what an absolutely lovely aroma!! It’s perfectly hopped with piny, grassy, resiny, citrussy and fruity notes and a soothing hint of caramel. The flavour is simply amazing, and I now realize how much I adore these extreme hop-head beers. And it’s beyond my understanding, that anyone can make a beer with only 5%, that has SO much flavour - so keep ’em coming!! I don’t have to serch for the bitterness, but perhaps there is something wrong with med, because I honestly think that it’s pleasant and smooth - extreme, sure, but.... It has a nice, slightly sweet caramel foundation, piny notes of resin, grass, orange citrus fruits, a hint of peach, grapefruit and the finish is veeeeery loooong - and I simply cannot let go, I need another sip - woow - what a beer!! 2168 Papsoe (25060) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2007
(On tap) Hazy, reddish amber with a very dense, creamy, off-white head leaving broad curtains of lacework. Very intense hop aroma with lots of pine and peach. The body is thin - almost watery - completely dominated by the extreme but also fresh aroma hops leaving a very heavy hoppiness. This is dry as a bone. Balance?, well go somewhere else.... 120507

Draught @ Copenhagen Øl Festival. [What a way to reach my #900 rating with Mikkeller at the outer rime of what experimental brewing can bring us] Small fizzy off-white head. Fair lacework to be displayed in glass. Hazy amber color. This was the most explosive aroma of hops that I have ever experienced. First notes were of Centennial with the catachrestic notes of piney, citrusy, grapefruit and pineapple. Also some elderflower, grassy and light bubblegum could also be detected. Also some spicy and fruity notes with underlying apricot. This was for me a perfect aroma, very complex and gave you the irresistible urge to take a sip of this aromatic brew. Holy shit the mouth feel was incredible with heavy bitter flavor. Some liquorish and soapy notes could be detected. The sweetness was almost not detected. Medium bodied as you mouth was covered in a heavy dry and tingling almost oily texture. Overwhelming dry and bitter finish. Want extreme brewing, go for a Mikkeller! Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Unclear amber (green tone) - offwhite head. This is just hop, hop and hop, with a juicy sensation.Very dry... you can almost smell the dusty dryness. Resin, grass, pine, dusty, grape, citrus, light honey, apple, peach, fruity, surprisingly smooth with all the hop, no malty taste, and high IBU. fonefan (50004) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 17, 2007
Draught @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Cloudy yellow amber color with a average fizzy fair lacing mostly diminshing off-white head. Aroma is a explosion of hop, heavy heavy hoppy ;o)) grapefruit, lemon, flower. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy / harsh bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Every zip gets better WOW what a monster beer ;o)) Belgo (154) - Køge, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2007
Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007.
The aroma is an explosion of American hop varieties. Tangerine, grapefruit, lemon mixed with freshly cut grass and a bit of hay. No maltyness present whatsoever in the nose. On the palate it is vibrating with bitterness and has too little body to really balance the bitterness. Still, in smaller quantities it is definately drinkable and was great fun to try. Hops galore! saxo (18960) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2007
Sample at Copenhagen beerfestival. Medium head with medium duration. Color is light brown. Aroma and taste are all hops.
