UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 App: black, no head. Aroma: tones of barrel, vanilla, sweet, dark fruits like dactyles, plums. Dark cocoa and chocolate notes are also there. Taste: there is some coffee, chocolate, definitely plums, dactyles in chocolate. It's rather sweet, but I what I personally like. Palate: Body is oily and full, low carbonation. I like it that way a lot. In the finish you will find heating, but nice alcohol. Overall: it's a good beer, very much to my taste, but it's not overcomplicated or complex.

(Tap sample @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Black pour without head. Notes of sweet and pretty roasted dark malt, raw and burnt sugars/molasses, chocolate, light coffee, dark fruit, umami touches, wood, rum, the latter building in the back end to dry out what's a pretty sweet beer overall. A bit of booze on the back end also. Medium-full body, oily, low carbonation, hides its alcohol well for its high ABV. Is maybe a touch too sweet for me in anything but a taster, but it's good in small doses.
