Draugh. The worlds best beer, period!!! If I were to only pick one alcoholic beverage to drink for the rest of my life, this would be it. Combining the flavours of beer and port in such a perfect way unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. Port, port and more port in both aroma and flavour. A nose of dark ripe fruit/plums, raisin, chocolate and cocoa along with a matching flavourprofile wich also adds elements of caramel, makes this beer truly outstanding to anyone with a sweet tooth. If you love ports, you’ll love this one. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2010
Wow. I was speechless after drinking this beer. I have had other Mikkellers that were less than spectacular, but this one was simply outstanding. Huge thanks to IBrew2or3 for sharing this one. Pours dark brown with a slight off-white head. Nose is chocolate, slight roast, cinnamon, spice, booze, pepper, mint, tobacco, earthy spice, chocolate, and a slight hint of coffee. Flavor is better than the nose, if such a thing is possible. This beer was simply outstanding. Medium bodied and complexity incarnate. ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2009
Black colour with a light brown head. Light roasted, vinous, fruity aroma with notes of chocolate and wood. Malty, fruity flavor with vinous notes and hints of wood and alcohol. Superb beer! deflagro (106) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 10, 2009
Bottle. Totally opaque liquid with a thick, dark brown and very creamy head. This is how an imperial stout is supposed to look. Aroma is a bit pungent and rather sweet with lots of oak, but most of all a lot of apples. Taste is incredibly rich with a lot of heavily roasted malt and apples, some sweetness, notes of oak, spices, vanilla and smoke. Low carbonation and a thick, rich mouthfeel. A completely wild and crazy beer. Really fantastic and an amazing experience. gunnfryd (14815) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2010

Rating #700 Bottle, huge thanks to IBrew2or3 for sharing. This beer was an experience. Poured black with a creamy dark brown head. Nose is intensely roasted with big notes of chocolate, oak, and brandy, lighter notes of vanilla, apple, and anise. Full body with a creamy, viscous mouth feel and soft carbonation. This beer is incredibly rich and decadent, I found the combination of roasty chocolate and apple brandy notes to be amazing. Finished moderately sweet with a lingering fudge note. Delicious! [EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] This was by fare one of the highlights of this years festival. Small bubbly off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Pitch black color. Heavy raisins, prunes, plum, chocolate, wood, vanilla and of cause Calvados, with its characteristic of apple brandy like notes. This was for me a perfect combination of Imp Stout and heavy sweet fruity notes. The barrel aged gave it some solid dryness and oak added to the complexity. Underling notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and hint of liquorish like notes as well. Very full bodied with an average carbonation and dry-alcoholic-thick texture. Heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering dried fruity and again Calvados like finish. Excellent and what a combo. joergen (27970) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2008
Draught at EBF 2008.
Pitch black coloured with a small beige head.
Roasted flavour of dried fruits, chocolate, alcohol and port wine.
Sweet and roasted flavour of dried fruits and chocolate with notes of liquorice, port wine and oak.
Roasted and warming alcoholic finish.
Perhaps it tastes more like port wine than beer, but for me it doesn’t matter - I like both port wine and beer. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2008
On tap at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Black, with a small tan head. Sweetish nose with coffee, chocolate, sugars and alcohol. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol and oaked spirits in the mouth. Oily, full-bodied and warming. Long, warming finish with chocolate, coffee and spirits. An extreme beer, complex as hell and plain wonderful. Probably the best beer on the festival, and the one I spent the most time enjoying. Just f…ing gorgeous.
