English: The second Christmas porter from Mikkeller. A spiced porter with fine malt background and lovely hop aroma and flavor. The label is designed as a ‘From To’ card – fill in the names and put the bottle under the Christmas tree. The perfect gift for the lazy man/woman…!
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, smoked, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), roasted barley, dark cassonade, hops (amarillo, saaz and cascade), spices (star anise, clove, cinnamon and coriander seeds) and yeast.

I can tell where they were going with this one, unfortunately for me, I got the bottle to late to get there. The beer is starting to go sour ( I bought several as Christmas gifts too :( ) The flavors of the beer couple with its turning don’t work well together.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, liquorice, coffee, light spices, taste is similar, roasted.

véry bitter and intense big body soft lingering carbs and a long roasted malty finish

Christmas porter brewed by Mikkeller in Belgium in 2008. Darkish yellow beige head, black colour. Aroma of coffee, cacao powder, cinnamon, brown sugar, candied dates, tobacco. Intense, deep taste, sweetish onset, then heavily chocolatey malty, mouth-filling, strong roasted bitterness, long finish. I wouldn’t mind receiving this as a Christmas gift.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 31.12.2013, 0,75l bottle @ home:

Nice brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, licorice, dark malts, dark sugar, dark berries, butterscotch, hints of coffee. Taste is slightly watery and sour-ish, dark malts, sour coffee, licorice, burnt caramel, ashtray, grass, butterscotch, dark berries. Medium bitterness, a little thin body. Nice enough, even though it’s 5 years old.

Thanks to koelschtrinker! Pours a pitch black/brown with a deep tan head that goes to a skim. Smell is spice, licorice, molasses, slight smoke. Taste is molasses, a bit of hops, some hop bite, ends with tart fruitiness and roastiness. Medium body, low carbonation.

Borup (15556) - Albertslund, DENMARK - APR 14, 2013
Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel and licorice.
