Light brown foam with nice head. Aroma of chokolate, coffee and malt. The flavor is rich with burnt sugar, coffee, chokolate and a very malty after taste. nuplastikk (6651) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 13, 2009
750ml bottle courtesy of Lene at Franklins. Plastic cork. Opaque black color with a thick, foamy, rusty tan-colored head. Chocolate winter aroma, quite fresh. The taste is big, rich, and roasty, but remains silky and delicate on the palate. Smooth with a little smoky smoothness, lots of cocoa subtleties. Perfect mellow balanced hop balance, the alcohol is perfectly veiled. An excellent winter beer with very smooth new school Danish smoothness. Furseth (2165) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - DEC 11, 2008

very dark brown with a huge f(fucking apostrophe)n khaki head. light roast nose with a toasted tootsie roll scent. hmmm, tastes like it smells, toasted tootsie roll. some lingering vanilla and some sesame seed oil. i really like this more than my notes reflect. but this is not a complex 5 paragragh beer. it is straight forward good.

Almost completely black with a dark maroon head that fizzes then settles.
Aroma of dark cocoa, dates, prunes and cinnamon.
Lots of flavor going on - dark and sweet roasted malts, dark fruits, bitter chocolate and a finish of smoke.
Thick and chewy, like 10W40.
Amazing Christmas beer. Would love to see what happens after a couple of years in the cellar.

Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Excellent aroma and flavour, roasty but refined, dry. Hints of coffee and spices, but the spices do not dominate. "Beer of the tasting" for me.
