Pours black with an ever expanding head. Enjoyed as a fantastic Christmas night treat. Wonderful lIqorice taste with a very active palate. Highly recommended. zacgillbanks (5429) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2013
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. black beer that pours with a large foamy tan head. It has rich spice, liquorice and chocolate flavours with roasted coffee and slight sour red fruit on the finish. SUPERB! Alecwallace (155) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 Wow. Don’t normally go ya wards porters and was one of my styles to try for 2013. Coffee and chocolate all smoothly wrapped up in a beer that doesn’t drink like a 8% beer. Sregnar35 (1032) - Rotterdam, New York, USA - JAN 15, 2013
On tap at the abbey. Pours black brown with a tiny head. Aroma is tangy and toasty. Flavor is tart, soy sauce with a sour roasted body, yum.

Pitch black, lasting dark brown head, beautiful. Chocolate, thick, coffee, Ash, tobacco. Medium bitter, thick creamy chocolate body, herbal ending. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. Good full body. Very nice. (75cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Taste of huge dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, smoke, coffee, molasses, citrus, pine, and spiciness. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of big dark chocolate, caramel, smoke, and coffee on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and lush mouth-feel. Alcohol is pretty much invisible, hardly any warming after the finish. Overall this is an interesting and tasty Baltic porter with huge robust flavor and easy drinking.

- black beer with a modest foam left; fairly roasted with notes of ashtray and licorice, chestnuts; full-bodied anmd slightly sticky, very bitter and hugely dry; long roasted and hoppy finish with more notes of ashes, nuts and spices - I love it !
Pours an opaque black with a brown hat that leaves sticky lace. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, molasses and roasted malts. Taste of roasted malts, molasses and a nice bitterness throughout. Excellent porter. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 26, 2014
Pours an opaque black with a massive light brown head and tons of lace. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, light dark fruits, and cocoa. Flavour is lots of roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, medium dark malt bitterness, just shy of tasting burnt and a mild-medium dry finish. Gluepot (685) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2015
A Mikkeller Christmas present. The nose is quite unique, featuring a damp woodiness, roasted coffee and a touch of chocolate. The woodiness continues through into a complex taste profile. Other elements include roasted coffee, a touch sourness and bitterness, some nutmeg, alcohol, and finishing with a touch of cherries and dark berries. Really well blended and feels bigger than its 8% abv. A real treat.
