Pours an opaque brownish-black from the bottle with a thin lacy tan ring and moderate lacing. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla sweetness, hints of chocolate and soy. Taste follows, with bitter coffee back and still a hint of astringency. Bourbon barrel aged is a whole hell of a lot better. stevencon (525) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2013
Thanks jbruner. Dark black pour with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt bourbon wood chocolate. Taste similar. More complex and blended than the non barrel aged version. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 5, 2013
A - Dark brown-black with a finger of frothy chocolate-khaki head. Fades normal.
S - Roasted dark chocolate malts, oak, vanilla, Bourbon, roasted coffee, black licorice, dark fruits, candi sugar, and some booze.
T - Sweet dark chocolate and caramel malts, Bourbon, vanilla, oak, dark fruits, roasted coffee, black licorice, citrus and earthy hops, candi sugar, smoke, and some booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet and warming finish.
D - Nicely balanced Barrel Aged Baltic Porter. Great complexity and depth added by the Bourbon barrels. Plovmand (8623) - Grindsted, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours jet black with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma is burned roasted with some spicy notes. Sure some bourbon there. The flavour is bourbon, roasted malt, hops and soy. Dominated by the bourbon.

I expected this to be a monster but it was nothing of the sort. Aroma, although very strong bourbon was nowhere near as heavy as I expected. Taste also strong bourbon but somewhat thinner mouthfeel than the hype promised. A little too heavy on the bourbon and a little too lacking in depth. A great porter but my expectation was higher.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with some sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. VsXsV (4550) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 25, 2012
Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium to big tan head. Aroma of vanilla, buttery bourbon, wood, toffee, chocolate, light coffee, caramel and raw sugar. Some light dark fruit as well. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of licorice, bourbon and light chocolate. Reminds me of julmust. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit thin. Lovely aroma but both taste and body is a bit disappointing. Too bad. Theydon_Bois (20636) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2012
Bottle at home (Beers of Europe) 16/12/12.
Pitch black with a good tan head that thins but retains as a film and around the edge.
Nose is roast malt, bourbon, wood, chocolate, sweet dark sugars.
Taste comprises roast malts, sweet sugars, bourbon evident, mineral tones, chocolate, wood tones.
Full bodied with fine carbonation, a touch of spritz, sweet finish with a touch of booze.
Excellent beer, alcohol is well hidden, good balance between the sugar and the booze. DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - DEC 15, 2012
12.7 oz. bottle, dark dark brown with smooth dark beige head, strong aroma of bourbon and licorice (maybe rhubarb). Smooth texture. Bourbon forward with bitter chocolate. Almost sour finish, dry. Nice, but bourbon tones are still a bit heavy, would benefit from another year of aging. SirLimpsalot (4550) - SWEDEN - DEC 1, 2012
@ Mikkeller Bar: Trevlig rostade toner, små ek toner och en tydlig söt ton från bourbon-fatet. Trevlig söt eftersmak,
