Pours pitch black with a nice light brown head. Strong aroma of dry wood, hints of oak, roasted malts, spices, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is mildly roasty with notes of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, hints of berries, oak and dry wood. Finish is smooth and roasty with some vanilla and bourbon notes. Nice, quite tasty barrel aged porter.

laiti (8508) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 25, 2012
37,5 bottle @ vPBF, BBE 18.08.2015
Aroma has vanilla, some bourbon and hints of woody notes. Flavour has some stinging bourbon, woody notes and salty licorice. A bit messy but decent anyway.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 25, 2012
375 ml bottle @ vPBF 2012.
Pours a pitch black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of strong dry wood, raisins and dark chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts, cream, citric tartness, dry wood, dark chocolate, cream and very smooth bourbon notes. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, warming, bourbon finish. A bit too much on the tart side, so this isn’t at it’s best anymore.

brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 9, 2012
The beer is almost black in color with a khaki colored head. Nose starts off with dark/burnt sugar, roasted malt, and a bit of alcohol. Very little in the way of oak or bourbon. Maybe just a touch of vanilla. There is a little bit of dark chocolate, too. Sweet sugar, roasted malt, and dark chocolate make up the majority of the flavor profile. Like with the aroma, light bourbon, vanilla, and oak notes. Some hints of dark fruits and a nice sweetness.

KingCecil (2086) - DENMARK - AUG 2, 2012

egajdzis (6693) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Opaque black color with a tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of char, roast, bourbon, vanilla, wood, smoke, and light alcohol. Taste of roast, smoke, dark fruits, vanilla, wood, and bourbony alcohol in the finish. Seemed to be from a barrel that held a wheated bourbon.

bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 26, 2012
(375ml bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a medium brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, and graham cracker. Flavor of bourbon, roasted malt, pine, dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate, and citrus.

doublebock (558) - California, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Dark brown with healthy tan head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, apple, and loads of vanilla. Very complex flavor. First,we’ve got a heavy bourbon infused smooth, malty porter followed by vanilla bean.Finishes with a layer of espresso and a subtle hopiness. So rich I need a glass of water halfway through. MIkkel is a genius.

wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Tasted on 12/26/11 from a bottle. Pours absolute black with a thick tan head that slowly recedes to average lacing. The nose is darkly roasted with dark chocolate, molasses, coffee, and underlying bourbon and vanilla notes. The flavor is very dry with all of the roasted dark notes from the nose and the vanilla, caramel, and whiskey notes more prevalent. The body is full with average carbonation and a long dark chocolate, coffee, and light bourbon finish.
