Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Thanks to Matt for fetching over. Black as santa’s belt with a thin lingering tan head. Aroma of choc, spices, roast, dark fruits, barrel and of course bourbon. Flavour was sweetish with notes of dark chocolate, charred malts, vanilla, booze and bourbon. Slight lick of sourness followed by some bitterness in the finish. Enjoyable stuff. 12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with clingy tan frosting; lace spots remain. Nose is coffee, bourbon, molasses, cocoa and allspice. Medium body but feeling a bit thinned by the barrel. Carb adds a mild sting. Taste is earthy chocolate and coffee with the bourbon adding bitter and sour notes. Dull spicing, maybe some nutmeg, build on the bitterness, getting vinous. Interesting brew but quite muted. Strykzone (7717) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2012
Sampled at an esbls tasting. Very dark with a nice tan head. Roasted notes but not really a lot of redeemable value. I had much better hopes. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2012

Bottle. Muddy brown color, beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, roasted coffee. Taste is boozy chocolate liqueur, but not overly boozy. Nice.

Bottle at home. Black pour, massive creamy tan head. Nose is massive bourbon explosion, BOURBON, spiced vanilla, BOURBON, liquorice, BOURBON, chocolate, BOURBON, hints of coconut also, BOUR... you get the idea. Palate is slightly softer - still big on the bourbon, but creamy chocolate also. Surprisingly dry ashy finish. Love it. FaithHealer1 (358) - SCOTLAND - JAN 1, 2012
Bottle at Dans. Pours a thick black with a tantalising finger of brown head. Nose is wonderful - bourbon, milk chocolate, butter coffee, some coconut and a hint of brie-style cheese. Taste is different, very interesting. More bourbon than in the nose, coffee, roastiness, creamy chocolate. Sweet on the way in, ashy bitter on the way down. Dry finish. Fairly thick mouthfeel, alcohol warming. Lovely. maledictum (800) - Pyongyang, NORTH KOREA - DEC 29, 2011
Bottle. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, gentle bourbon notes, coffee and liquorice. Taste has a bit more bourbon, alot of roastyness, coffee, liquorice, warming alcohol at the end and with a rather dry mouthfeel. italianjohn (3282) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Black pour tan head light lacing ... aroma of bourbon and oak with some dark overripe fruits and roasted and chocolatey malts ..... taste is oaky with bourbon, vanilla and a roasted chocolatey flavor after some spices come through, overripe dark fruits as well but the bourbon and oak are the dominant flavors here ... finish is dry and oaky with a bitter spice and hop .... abv is hidden well .... would be a nice one to age to see how the flavors turn out Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2011
