[email protected] BeerFest2010. Amber colour, not much head, but the tiny thing there is leaves lace. Aroma is fruits, wood, mild spices and some wooden notes. Flavour is fruity hops along with some mild grassy notes as well.

Very dense, huge yellowish head, with quite some lace over bright foxy-orange beer. Fleeting dry hopbales impression, then full citrus and other fruity esters as passion fruit. Sharp, but very fruity flavour, sweetish-bitter, very aromatic, ending again on dry hopbales. Very long bitter aftertaste, bit harsh. Quite slick, medium bodied, sharp MF, oily. Typical US ale, astride on IPA and IIPA. For the series: totally wrong choice of hops.

Bottle. Clear, rusty amber colour with a medium, off-white creamy head. Hoppy aroma, more american with more aromatic hops, quite dry and crisp. Also lime, caramel and a little grapefruit. Taste has a bit of malt/sugary sweetness and some citrus, fruits, herbs and caramel. Very dry on the palate, a little oily though. Short duration, medium carbonation.

33 cl bottle from lbutikken. The pour is clear kobber brown with an orange glow and a head that is off white again with a glimps of orange. Its big a foamy and it stays as it is sopposed to. The nose is floral with pine and malt - nicely fresh. The taste is quite massive an im actually thinking a little of Alpha King due to the malty profile with the fresh floral hopping. Its crispy with a warming alcohol and a sweet malt finish. Medium creamy palate. Nice beer

28-MAY-2010, draft @Mikkeller. Dark, almost brown with low head. Outdoor drinking is fine, but the nose is weak and maybe due to that. Piney taste with a good portion of malt to back it up. Loooong bitter aftertaste, and better as it warms. I am looking forward to (hopefully) trying the full yeast series side by side.

Rune (12071) - Troms, NORWAY - MAY 29, 2010
During my last visit in early May to Copenhagen I bought the whole Yeast Series, five 330ml bottles, at lbutikken and carried them back home. All of them were shared with Finn at a vertical drinking session. Apart from the Brettanomyes version I found them all rather similar in aroma and taste profile. This one poured a rocky and dense, near-white head with fragile lacing on the glass. Hazy amber coloured body. Nice aroma of fresh hoppy fruits. Succulent aroma of citric and tropical fruits with caramel malts behind. Dry bitter ending. Medium bodied and pleasant to drink (Troms, 25.05.2010).
