Bottle. Black, creamy. Sour citrus on nose, huge black roast, malty, roasty ashy, some chocolate. Full bodied, bitters, roast, some roast ash acidity. Super flavourful, bit too heavy roasty for me.

Koelschtrinker (19434) - Kln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAR 5, 2016
Dunkel malziger, deutlich fruchtiger Beginn. Leicht bitter, steigend herb, Schokoladennoten. Harmonisch, intensiver werdend, erstaunlicherweise sogar etwas hopfig. Cremig schokoladiger Nachhall. 12/11/10/11/10/11

wombat23 (1227) - Texas, USA - MAR 4, 2016
Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a foamy chocolatey head. Some light colored particles floating around; presumably (hopefully!) the orange zest. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate, but also has a clashing pungent smell. Taste is more roasted malt, chocolate, and faint orange zest. Floral hops bitterness and acidity is at odds with the roasty, chocolatety flavors. Its okay, but was hoping for better.

Aroma: intense chocolate smell with faint citrus undertones; Appearance: pitch black with thin, tan head; alarming collection of particles at the bottom of the glass; Taste: most chocolatey porter Ive tasted; a bit overwhelming; not balanced enough; Palate: heavy palate with long, sweet finish; Overall: not my favorite style and not my favorite version. Can appreciate it but would not buy again.

VertBaconStrips (2380) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - FEB 27, 2016
If I walked through a tub of this Id get stuck its so damn thick. The smell reminds me of a lighter version George! Then again Ive not have a dark Mikkeller beer in a long time. Big oily roast, nutty stuff with an almond hint, licorice, citrus is found best on the top of the glass. "She keeps nuts in her mouth like the bitch was a squirrel" Ice Cube. If this was 10% it might be undrinkable. Zip, citrus, close to pine, deep roast, more citrus that actually works, borderline burnt, juicy as it warms. Really fucking bitter and sharp after a long sit while slurping down the thin layer of liquid thats coving up the rock sized sediment. The last sip was brutal to put back. Suffering is good for you.

UXO (1806) - CANADA - FEB 22, 2016
Appearance: near opaque black with some particulate, one fat finger of medium dense beige head, good retention and moderate lacing. (5/5) Aroma: orange zest, cocoa, liquorice, dark roasty malt. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter, light tart. (8/10) Palate: moderate slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter, tart, and warming finish. (4/5) Well, thats more than a little weird, but not in a negative way. The citrus tones really are orange zest, with not even a suggestion of juice or pith. (Im also more than a little convinced that the particulate is actually the orange zest itself.) The sweetness is actually less than it seems at first, and is really barely sufficient to offset the bitterness of both the hops and the orange peel, which build and become progressively more aggressive as the pint progresses. Well balanced with a mild ABV that manifests only as a mild warming towards the end. Not your typical beer, but well worth a try. (16/20)
