COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Summer.
Colour: Dark gold. Summertime blonde beer which uses lager, malt and organic Perle Hallertau hops. On the nose there's an emphatic citrussy and lemon character with grainy malt lingering in the background. On the palette there's a whisper of grainy malt followed by more citrus (lemon and lime) before the dry finish with developing bitterness and an undertone of citrus fruit. An exceedingly well-balanced blend of malty and hoppy flavours to which you will want to keep returning.

Cask at The Reginald Mitchell, Hanley (JDW) A clear amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, slight toasted malts, a little fruit and subtle spicy hops. Taste of biscuity malts, slight toasted malts, caramel, a little fruit and subtle spicy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, subtley spicy, biscuity malt bitterness in the finish. A simple, malty bitter but quaffable enough.

Cask pint in a local Wetherspoons on 31st Aug 2017. Sat outside in the afternoon sun, away from the smokers. Misty amber body, off-white crown. Subtle blend with not a lot going on, I got some apple and pears in the taste and a hint of citrus in the nose. Glad the sun was out.

Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys London as Milk Street Funky Monkey, 4%. Amber orange, translucent and still with a foamy off white head. Aroma is faint orange peel and banana peel, quite estery with an astringency. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is a little twiggy and astringent with some dried apple peel. Bit thin and astringent. Average at best I’m afraid. (4-4-4-4-12=2.8)

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2017 Keg at Northern Seaman, Rochester. The beer is sour, but its called funky monkey so is the sourness intentional. I take it back to the bar man - the bearded owner of the pub. Is it meant to be sour, I ask. Yes, says he. Hmmm. Seems not. Twit. [2.0]
Can at Mettricks, Southampton. Can is labelled Frome Brewing Company at the front, and Milk Street at the back. Foams over when opened. Wow, this is fruity and delicious. Quite a revelation after the previous sour experience. I love this. [4.0]
