COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English "Old Ale" called Distillery Ale brewed to celebrate the opening of our distillery. It is a bright copper colour (just like the still) from the English floor malt as well as the caramel and chocolate malt and it is fermented with English Ale yeast to give it a nice light apple/pear fruitiness. It has a profound amount of aroma hops in it to emulate the classic beer of this style from back when the Distillery District started up in the early 1800’s.

Sampled at the National Capital Beer Fest in Ottawa with Chopz. Pours very minimal head and has a pale golden appearance. Haa some pretty malty aromas. Has slight hoppiness in the finish. Toasty and nutty malt in flavours as well as notes of cherry. Fairly fruity taste but goes down pretty nicely. Ok carbonation and retention. Not bad.

It pours copper with orange highlights; the head is beige and foamy. The aroma has notes of: toffee, grapefruit, shortbread, skunk, and roasted hazelnut. The taste is medium bitter; there are notes of: toffee, grapefruit, shortbread, and roasted hazelnut. The palate is medium light bodied with light carbonation and a medium finish. Overall, fairly bland.

Not bad for the style. Copper with white head. Draft pour at Mill Street brewery in Toronto, part of a flight. Earthy and fruity. Really well put together. I like. Bartender said it was his favorite

Poured a cloudy brown with a slightly off-colour head. Bready, chocolatey, fruity/flowery. It’s ok, probably wouldn’t have again.

Wow, lots of foamy clingy head. Flowery scent. Rather bitter. Has some real bite. Not a fan of that. Roasty and just a bit sweet for a minute but then the bitterness takes over. Sweetness is caramel like. Too much hops for me.

[5479-20130604] Tap. Mild grainy fruit aroma. Clear, golden orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Mildly bitter fruity grains flavour. Medium body. Good, simple. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

Tap at the brewery. Pours murky brown with an off white head. Aroma is brow bread. Light to medium body, medium to full carbonation. Caramel, orange, lemon, toast... Simple, but OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. This beer feels stronger than it is. From the name to the taste. Big caramel and bread taste, with some hints of chocolate. You also taste the yeast too with some fruitiness in there. Has a good amount of carbonation a bit of bite. A nice surprise that comes in a 6 pack taster pack.

pushkinwow (2826) - Ottawa, CANADA - MAR 7, 2014
Bottle. Light murky copper with a beige head. Nice grainy profile with some caramel, light toffee, sweet, some fruit. High carbonation, mild body, inoffensive although a little too sweet and bubbly for my liking.

2.9
Strangebrewer (1315) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 21, 2014
bottle. Poured clear medium red-amber with a thin white head. Light toasty malt aroma. Medium-light body, prickly mouthfeel, slightly acidic. Woody malt flavour, moderately dry metallic finish.
