Nice clear copper, foamy off white head fades. Grassy piney malty aroma. Caramel malt taste with a light bitterness, some fruit notes. Average carbonation, light bodied. Light bitter finish. LF (Lagerboy Friendly) Strangebrewer (1399) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2012
bottle. Poured clear amber-orange with a very thin white head. The aroma is light with sweet caramel malt. Body is a bit fizzy, average. Flavour is nice with caramel, some nuttiness and a grassy hops note, but it’s just lacking something. solidfunk (9824) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Not sure if this was just because it was the first taster of the morning at the Mill St. brewery store, but it tastes and smells a little sour. The bitterness factor doesn’t come much into play here. An unexpected - and not very pleasant - experience. yarry (528) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2012
355ml bottle, 4.6% a/v.
Pours fiery and deep copper color with a thin off white head. Aroma is very malty and caramel, some nice nut aromas too. The taste is similarly malty and nutty, almost a deep roasted almond palate to finish it off. This is a very well balanced brew, glad to see Mill Street keep pumping out the quality beer! DuffMan (10983) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 1, 2012
Bottle. Brassy golden colour, medium white head. Aroma is grainy with light toffee, a little weak. Flavours are dull, watery toffee and grains, metallic note in the finish. A poor example of a style that ranges widely. Maybe the ingredients were authentic, but the craftsmanship missed the mark.
