Trappist1 (646) - Diest, BELGIUM - NOV 13, 2013
Dark brown, nice white head. A lot of roasted malt, bit of chcolate, moccha (truffle pralines), Taste: very chocolatish but not being (too) sweet, somewhat earthy. Nice beer, good nose with a balanced finish.

thanatosti (1693) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - OCT 17, 2013
Vacation 2013 @ Virton, Belgium. 33 cl. bottle @ the bungalow, bought @ the local famers supermarket.

Dark brown with yeast specks floating around and an offwhite head. Hoppy aroma with some roasted malts. Lively carbonation Long lasting aftertaste. Great beer.

77ships (9774) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 6, 2013
Sampled 15 cl. draft @ Modeste 2013. Very dark raspberry, ruby, tanned head. Nose is huge sweet jam, sweet malt, sweet berries, white sugar & even more, say lots of jam. Taste is very sweet, huge jam & malt body, white sugar, touch bitter leaves in the back coupled with herbs, bitter spices. Thick jam & malt body with less carb. Not sure what is "douce" about this, def. not the body, the taste maybe? Or the fact that it feels more 6 % ABV than 7 % ABV?

Benzai (15586) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2013
Bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Opaque brown color, virtually no head. Smell malts, caramel, slightly roasted malts, decently bitter, lightly a touch of wood and maybe even a slight touch of hops. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice even though the appearance wasn’t very promising.

Bottle (33 cl) from bierzwerg.de. Clear chestnut with beige head. Roasted porter-like malt aroma with some bubble gum prhenols and piney hops. Medium bodied, vivid carbonation. Dry with medium bitterness. Very nice mix of american brown ale and belgian ale.

Mooie bruine kleur, weinig schuim. Weinig koolzuur. Ruikt erg zoet. Smaakt tamelijk zoet, met een klein beetje zuur. Goed bier.
