COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Beer with a nice spicy, flowery aroma, terrible safrane taste ruining at all

VDuquerroux (1950) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - FEB 28, 2015
Bottle, 33cL. Home. A brown orange opaque beer ; many yeast sediments ; medium white head ; medium retention. Fruity aroma (quince), spices (I guess this is saffron!), biscuit, resin, floral. Medium sweet, medium dry bitter, warming powerful "background". Good body, medium texture, average carbonation, sweet warming finish and dry.

Schiuma fine compatta e persistente. Buon corpo.

bottle from the fridge at pivni rozmanitost. quite a pale, saffron yellow with almost no head; aroma of weetbix and golden syrup; soomewhat stale flavours, hint of earthy spice. so-so

3.3
Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - AUG 28, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2015 Saffron-flavored specialty beer since 2011, with yellowish white, delicate, creamy head and cloudy yellow colour. Lots of saffron in the nose, pineapple, jute, green apples, mango. Exotic fruits in the mouth, sharp Asian spiciness becoming milder towards the finish, light sourishness, drying, bit powdery mouthfeel, saffron very clearly pleasant and either you like that, or you don’t. I did and I bet this goes well with Indian or creole food but like the other spiced beers from this brewery, this is clearly one to either love or hate...

Dark orange color with an off-white head. Well, the nose is saffron ! Some malt, hop, yeast, rice pudding, oranges. Taste is malts, hop, nice bitterness, Okey body. Saffron is less present than in the nose (which is a good thing). Finish is dry and bitter. Okey balanced. Beats the saffron expectations. Okey try, and nice for a taste.

TEJA (3346) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 22, 2014
Big and lastning beige head. Solid golden color. Huge aroma from saffran. Hard sharp taste with a bit of alkohol. Big body and a lastning saffran taste that is to Much.

Net zoals bijna alle bieren van deze brouwerij heeft deze ook een heel uitgesproken smaak, maar een smaak die mij absoluut niet bevalt
