UPDATED: DEC 9, 2011 Quite clear orange body with a rocky off-white head. Intruiging well balanced aroma of pepper, lemon, orange. Very well balnced warm flavour: moderately bitter, moderatelly sweet. Great! Noctilucus (117) - All over Belgium, BELGIUM - NOV 13, 2010
Unique! It’s unclear blonde/amber with a nose of pepper and coriander, even if it turns out that there’s no coriander in the ingredients. The pepper (pepper as in white/black peppers, not chilis) makes it stand out from the crowd, giving it a pronounced taste yet not too spicy either so it remains very enjoyable. I’d love to try this again accompanied with the right meal. It’s got a strong taste though so whichever beer you choose next better be full-bodied... MarcV (22) - - NOV 6, 2012
L’Amarante is an exceptional beer with a unique aroma and taste because of the use of the pepper.
Look: moderate off white head. Hazy amber beer with very little carbonation.
Aroma: hops, spicy, very unique, sweet
Taste: spicy, sour touch, bitter finish, very complex sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 26, 2011
(Bottled) Opaque orange with a smallish, but firm and creamy head. Very nice aroma with pepper, garden herbs, pale honeyish malt, flowery-saisony notes. Flavor is smoothly pale-malty, spicy and orange-fruity, with a long, peppery-gingery-spicy finish. Medium to full body, soft CO2. A very nice, spicy and saisony ale, that reminds me of the excellent Fantôme brews. Very nice if you like pepper (like I do)! 4356

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of bright black pepper, pink pepper, light hops, bunches of sweetness, a touch of yeast and more pepper - very nice smelling, intoxicating, almost! Medium-bodied; Assertive pepper flavour up front that isn’t spicy at all with a more mellow flavour in the middle with a little malt, fruit sweetness, some other herbs and a touch of earthy bitterness at the end. Aftertaste is mildly complex with pepper dominating and showing some sweetness and a lot of dry characteristics. Overall, a very nice complex beer that you wouldn’t expect too much, but good all around! I’m glad I brought this back home with me and would tell anyone else to do the same, assuming you can find it! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Delices & Caprises in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €2,00 sampled at home on the other side of the Atlantic in Washington on 12-March-2014. dnstone (3670) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Light gold color with nice white head. Spicey, Indian food aroma. Tastes like a light triple with a pepper finish nicely unobtrusive for a pepper beer.
